Layoffs

What day this week are the layoffs happening? Seems Like they always happen on pay days so I guess Thursday. Is it all DMs or other corp staff?

Blue Yonder

Anyone else having problems with logging into Blue Yonder?? Now it’s asking for a customer key but the bbb one we used when first started using Blue Yonder doesn’t work Would love to know my schedule Wonderful systems we have First it the A/C …... — read more

DM’s to go first

Watch out. DM’s in Harmon and Bedbath to be the first to go. Especially if they were recently promoted they will be the first to go. And any senior directors within the company. Valuable source. Happening next week.

Looking for a reason to be positive

It seems that my hopes are in vain that something will change for the better. It's become difficult to even fake a smile. Looks like there's no reason to be optimistic here?

Show of hands

How many of you hope to see Bed Bath and Beyond fail miserably?

Dear Board of directors and interim CEO

Thank you for the action taken last week. Please continue to look closely at the rest of the top leaders. Much more change is needed for us to turn this around.

RGIS is here, it's July

Ok what could that mean, RGIS is here taking pictures and walking the entire store...I'm genuinely worried

New CEO

As much as I would like it, I do not have any expectations that there will be any big change for the better with the new CEO. Any thoughts? What are your expectations?

I remember the good times

I remember when we had realistic schedules and were given appropriate time off. I remember when we weren't constantly overworked due to a staffing shortage. I remember when we were recognized for working hard. Things have changed so drastically, so... — read more

Buybuy Baby

There's more talk about selling Buybuy Baby, any ideas about what that'll mean for employees? I know we're bound to see some cuts if that happens, but how bad will it get? Is there anybody here from previously sold segments who can tell us how it... — read more

Why?

Why are people so mean here? Some of us are just trying to get info about an uncertain future and some are sharing their experiences. How does that constitute such nit picking and mean comments? My God people treat each other with just a grain of... — read more

Bed Bath & Beyond is not worth worrying over

What do you get for working here? Bellow industry pay, laughable benefits, too much work, expectations to be at several places at once, incompetent and lazy managers, and so much more. Even if you're laid off, you should look at it as a positive... — read more

It’s funny when stuff started going bad

The original founders lost millions when the whole Bernie Madoff stuff happened. From that point things started to change. The founder’s wife shops with coupons in LI now. I’m hoping for the best but the future looks bleak.

town hall

anyone tune in or hear anything from the virtual thing today? i assume it's just gonna be them repeating everything they released to the press and told us already, but curious if they'll lay out any extra info, give us at least a tiny bit of... — read more

I'm much more worried today than I was yesterday

Yesterday, I was overjoyed that we'd be getting a new CEO after Tritton made the mess that he did. Today, I'm worried that this can mean two things: another reorganization or bankruptcy. Either comes with major cuts in costs, which in turn means... — read more

Stock

I’m going to buy a sh-t ton of stock tomorrow. They have a plan and I will make a bunch of money once everything settles down. Mark my words.

Hmmm

Well I guess that means no July event calendar? Or Maybe Bankrupt Bingo !

Bed Bath and Beyond has become a literal hot mess

Analysts there have been dropping in on stores to get a read on what's happening on the ground. It's not looking great. Labor hours and store operating hours have been scaled back, the analysts say. Remodeling projects have been canceled. ... — read more

This is a good thing

Yes, there will probably be some layoffs and it won't be easy but this needed to happen. I'll be honest, I didn't expect it to happen. I've seen CEOs destroy companies without anybody batting an eye, so kudos to the board for this. Let's hope this... — read more

How long before layoffs?

With todays announcement how long do you think we have before mass layoffs - 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months..

CEO GONE, LAYOFFS NEXT!!!

This is usually how the game is played, they have to come strong with results on how to SAVE money ….

What do we know about Sue Gove?

Considering that chances are low that somebody will be willing to take on the CEO position at this point (unless the company is willing to pony up to the max), she might be at the helm for significantly longer than anybody expects. If that happens... — read more

MT’s parachute

From the ‘21 annual report he will receive up to $25 million in compensation. Possibly as “little” as $15 million depending on how the board treats his termination.

About time!

It was obvious a year ago that MT's "turnaround" only further destroyed the company instead of improving things. He shouldn't have been given this much time to further sink us. I don't know if his replacement will be any better, but I know I'm really... — read more

Just how competitive is the job market right now?

Almost everyday I hear that the job market is in a good place right now and that now is the time to leave. While that may be true the other side of the equation is that many folks are looking for a job in this industry and that companies are buried... — read more

Will it finally happen?

We need to change the fact that BOPIS / CDS’s are e-commerce and not counted as sales to the store it’s coming from. This should be one of the priorities. But unfortunately, I think this issue will persist for a long time to come.

Bank of America

Has anyone else had bank of america suits coming in their stores and asking random questions?

Meetings

Does any other store do team manager meetings? My store consists of 5 manager whom all sit in the office for 2 hours. That is 10 hours that could be used on the sales floor or a cashier. The way hours are it just seems like the time could be used... — read more
