Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

DM’s to go first

Watch out. DM’s in Harmon and Bedbath to be the first to go. Especially if they were recently promoted they will be the first to go. And any senior directors within the company. Valuable source. Happening next week.

Hey the week isn’t over still have today. Look no one likes seeing anyone lose their job. Typical BedBathAndBeyond they could have changed their mind laying off people isn’t going to save them tons of cash like the first rounds it’s gonna cost them more with severances etc.. which they don’t have , maybe they re-thought things and are going to keep shutting down stores that have leases that are up, one never knows. I don’t think the OP was bsing I think they heard something but maybe it changed. If there is a round of layoffs this time there might not be a severance and NJ is an at will state which means they can let you go at anytime for any reason. I know they most companies don’t exercise this but in hard times they may. Stay positive everyone and remember there are tons of jobs out there! Bed bath is not ur last stop!!!!!

Think about the old days when there was a district HR, district customer service trainer, district ops, district merchandise manager, district loss prevention, district trainer. Felt like with those people combined with regional staff, there was some dog and pony show going on in the store almost every day.

They should go because they do nothing but criticize when they visit knowing we have no hours to have people in the building

Always going to be crybabies who don’t understand that people who have been here a long time have close contacts with people higher up that know insiside information. Must be a nervous DM

I agree with getting rid of HR. They don’t do anything. If you call or email them they tell you to call MY HR .
So why do they have a job?

Really? I am the OP and think about when all this garbage started before MT. Most of it all happened. People getting laid off, executives ousted, DM’s and regionals gone. So guess what time for another round so buckle up and get your resume ready. My inclination is that you’re a DM and you’re nervous. Rightfully so!

All of them are so out of touch with reality! Must be nice to work from home the purpose of this is what? The HR districts are completely worthless call them they say call My HR. So there is some payroll back to the stores, There are 3 levels of uselessness DM SDM SVP all can go or be put in a store to work ! Not sit in an office and bs all day or get rid of them !

Exactly get rid of the dead wood at the top. Unless they’re helping on the floor, time to say goodbye

Can’t cut stores any more. Sure won’t cut c-suite pay. Have to feed Wall Street some red meat.
IMO HR could use a bit of enlightenment.

oh no, what ever will stores do without someone constantly riding them about numbers that are out of our control, with no actual solutions or feedback on how to fix it? or someone to walk around the store for an hour complaining about one sign being down (most likely because we haven't received it yet), while ignoring the fact that the store looks like trash because we don't have employees to close rooms anymore? but yeah....that one sign is what's hurting us

DMs “work” from home most of the time meaning they are at the gym or doing something else.

When we have conference calls ours does not even hide it.

Does yours say “Sorry my laptop is having connection issues so you may here some background noise”. Ie. kids and pets

Almost never in stores with SMs because ours has to use his own car. His main purpose is to recap corporate results from BRD and send out reminders to have store do LMS.

Long past due to trim the fat! They only take up space on the offices sucking up our oxygen

Conversion is a joke. It would only make sense if stores were actually allowed to order what they need! That is now out of our hands as managers so why are we being held accountable for conversion.
Done with my rant.
Bact to DMs dont need them in the stores. Its not like we have enough people/hours to do any tasks they add to our plate!

What the OP posted makes a lot of sense, so why discredit it because it is posted on this page? There has been a lot of information posted here in between mere assumptions that has been completely accurate. Sounds like you are just in denial or scared and hoping it isn't true. That if that is the case it does not make it false.

if you are posting on this page, then you know nothing about people being let go and neither does your "reliable" source.
