Topics regarding layoffs at Avaya

Avaya is a horrible place to work

It feels like every day at Avaya is nothing but a reminder of how bad this place is. The constant fear of layoffs, lack of morale, and no sense of responsibility make it feel like the worst workplace imaginable. The whole atmosphere just drains you... — read more

Get out while you can

This place won’t last long. Stop kidding yourself and start looking for something better before you’re stuck without options.

To customers.

If you continue to buy, or stay with, Avaya products then good luck. My experience is that the product suite is subpar and given all the layoffs what is left of support and development is almost non-existent.

Avayas 'new' focus

I find the focus on the '1500' customers a bit funny TBH. What nobody in senior management wants to admit is that a number of those, on-prem, customers are only sticking with Avaya because it's too expensive to change. I know that some of our biggest... — read more

Avaya is a disaster

It’s full of high school-level drama and managers who’d rather play politics than do anything useful, like their jobs. The hierarchy’s just a bunch of bullies, kiss-ups, and people who don't lift a finger. It’s hard to trust anyone here since one... — read more

A sad demise of Avaya

Avaya have been 'restructuring' since the day they were spun out of Lucent Technologies in Oct 2000. Worked there pre and post spin off until 2019. It's been one failure after another, but the common denominator has been/still is, self-serving... — read more

How much did you sacrifice for different Avaya goals?

Honestly? Deadlines, weekend work, holiday work—just pushing a bit more here and there. How many games or holidays have we missed? And now, we’re stabbed in the back. They’ll still make a ton of money no matter what, while the worker gets sc--wed... — read more

This is the worst possible time to be laid off

Have you guys checked out the job market yet? Things are not looking good, to put it mildly. Very few available jobs and the pay (where mentioned) is underwhelming, to say the least. I'm almost envious of those who were laid off a year or two ago... — read more

Being set up to be sold

Masarek leaves suddenly and the Chair of the Board steps in and starts hatcheting Leadership and staff. That says that they are layoffs are a set up for a sale. PD walks away with a nice payoff and Avaya gets cut up and sold or ki-led.

Too many good people lost

Let me ask you something: how many useless layers of management do we have? How come they're never the ones impacted in a layoff when we all know losing them wouldn't affect Avaya in any way? Their absence wouldn't even be felt. Instead, we keep... — read more
