Masarek leaves suddenly and the Chair of the Board steps in and starts hatcheting Leadership and staff. That says that they are layoffs are a set up for a sale. PD walks away with a nice payoff and Avaya gets cut up and sold or ki-led.

No, it's Mitel! Unify wasn't enough of an anchor.
Avaya being acquired by Alvaria
Masarek is a d!ck. Wouldn't trust him with anything. Never believed what he said. I asked, multiple times, on all hands calls whether layoffs were done only to get blown off with corporate bullsh@t.
I can't count the number of times someone on this site has mooned for Avaya to be sold. What no one ever writes (with any insight) is under what circumstances anyone would ever buy Avaya. All I see are big names thrown out like Microsoft or Salesforce. It's a dream. Avaya has nothing of value except laggards too slow to leave who can be milked for maintenance fees or scraps of third-party app revenues (i.e. RingCentral, Zoom).
Been a v-e-r-y long time (some would say long overdue) coming.
