Risk and Compliance job cuts piling up on Wall Street

I had some time this weekend to analyze LinkedIn data. There are so many Compliance and Risk Managers who were laid off in New York City in the fall of 2019 and March 2020, etc. who are still unemployed. A couple of my former Prudential co-workers... — read more

Retire vs Quit vs Wait for Layoff?

Planning to retire in the next one to three years, but could go right now. Financially able to go at any time but with COVID going on, life won't change much. Sitting at home watching TV vs sitting at home watching a monitor and getting paid for... — read more

Cut offs

CUTS

All assistant branch managers and CCSR will be cut starting December 3rd no one knows

'Business Liaison Consultant'

These people are overpaid dead weight. Name one thing they do that isn't just them passing along someone else's work or message to someone else. If WF wants to cut expenses, another great place to start are these glorified secretaries. If... — read more

Blast from the Past

**** Stumbled upon this older article about how good communication is/was at Wells Fargo: Pre-2016. Kind of fun to read about Stumpf “appreciating authentic dialogue”, and his fireside chats 🙄. Also interesting to see who is no longer here. ... — read more

Wells Fargo Code of Ethics Hotline

My manager was hosted by a vendor to an all expenses paid trip to the Master golf tournament a few years ago including a round of golf at Eastlake and transportation on the vendors private jet. I am now being laid off by this manager. Should I... — read more

This year was just a warm-up

2021 will really shine when it comes to layoffs. We are nowhere near to reaching the desired number of employees and the chances are they'll pick things up next year to get there sooner. After all, fewer employees means fewer costs means more bonus... — read more

Real reason WF is in Trouble (rant)

~20 yrs at WF Rant incoming as I'm frustrated being constantly told that we need to cut people because we're bloated and have more people to do the same job, no sh–, it's because all across the company we have manual workarounds on top of manual... — read more

Zappos Idea

I was reading Zappos would pay employees 1 month of pay if they wanted to ever leave. Maybe Wells Fargo should offer something like this to employees. The idea is that you would pay those employees who bring negative vibes to the firm to leave and... — read more

I LOVE WELLS FARGO!!

The hate comes from others because of our greatness, all the other banks wish they were positioned as well. This is the greatest bank in America. We're the furthest along in meeting regulator demands. We're #1 or #2 in the best sectors. We have... — read more

Dec 1 Layoff Thread

Have heard from several managers that Dec 1 is another cut date. Anyone know which groups are being targeted this round?

I LOVE WF!!!

Yes!!! Finally....an awesome CEO who knows what we need! Dang, bring it on, time to be told when to work, what to work on, how to do it, where to do it, and why I should for less! Wowsa, the testosterone is bowling me over, yikes I can't even type... — read more

Missed benefits deadline, whoops FSA

I'm lucky they default back into the plan from last year, but I simultaneously feel like a space cadet and am annoyed there wasn't more communication on it. C'est la vie

Stress of Working for Wells Thread

This thread needs to stay alive. https://www.thelayoff.com/t/186N4k1m We get too many troll threads and off the wall questions that server no purpose. The Wells stress thread is not one of those. I can't stand logging in, I am waking up... — read more

CEO Thanksgiving message

So was I the only one who thought this was awful last minute at 3pm eastern time on the day before? It seemed like our dear leader thought of it at the last minute. It’s nice to know we are upper most in his thoughts.

WFH options

If your role permanently allows you to work from home, can you share what you do, salary range, what skills/ experience is required and if you foresee any changes to that in the future? WFH these last few months for calling center and avoiding a 1.5... — read more

disability and termination?

So I'm working on getting permanent disability status through SS. If I go on disability with WF, can they terminate me after my FMLA expires, or do they have to carry me for as long as my short term and long term disability last?

Are you WFH or back at the office?

I normally work in a call center but take calls from home now. Do they intend to have everyone back in the office after COVID? Also, I was just put in a training group for “new hires” which makes me think they are less likely to lay off in our... — read more

Kowatch Videos

Is SvB doing a good job running tech?

Interested to hear from folks in tech what they think about the job Saul is doing? I have heard 2 consistent points of view. The first one is “no he is awful, completely out of his depth and just more of the same”. The other is “yes, he is... — read more

Salary continuation after displacement and 401k

NOT a Happy Thanksgiving

Death by a thousand cuts. There is nothing transparent, honest and respectful about what WF is doing. Please don't reply telling those of us who feel this way that we should quit during this pandemic in markets with little to no job options... — read more

You choose to stress over nothing

I don't understand why people can't enjoy at least the few days or weeks of safety we get every once in a while. The earliest we can expect more layoffs is December. That's been confirmed several times by now. And yet you still have people in the... — read more
