Young and looking to GTFO

I may be relatively young but this is not my first rodeo and I won't tolerate terrible leadership - and the consensus I've heard among other young talent; they won't either. I don't want to be a part of a company where veterans get canned like... — read more

Spread the Word: Mattel is Suppressing Layoff Rumors

Besides this and a few other rinky-dink websites, there's no mention of these layoffs in the news. Google it if you don't believe it. How does Mattel manage to quash these rumors, and how can we get the word out to tell the world the truth about what... — read more

How Mattel Killed Fisher Price!

This is 100% true. Mattel came to FP and drained all of the creativity away. Slow at first, when our office was more autonomous - then as the Mattel culture began to infiltrate our office, this doomed the sense of freedom we once had. Before Mattel... — read more

Mattel To Relocate to Texas?

Would Mattel just relocate its worldwide headquarters and consolidate other offices to a cheaper place? Look at Toyota, pulling out of Torrance and moving to Plano Texas. They own that town. I thought that was impossible when I heard it, but it... — read more

ES Design Center Closed 2018

The commercial lease was broken and the plan is to relocate D&D to HK except for a tiny R&D hit squad in ES. The "Handler Team Center" didn't last too long.

Kilpin's a Nice Guy, Stockton Was a Nice Guy, BUT...

Yet on their watch, Mat-Hell became a looney bin of arrogant, narrow-minded, uninspiring leadership. Innovation and creativity became insignificant buzzwords. Corporate culture went to hell, decisions and approvals were hard to get, only motivated by... — read more

I left Mattel in 2005 the day my contract ended as I was so fed up with management and saw the big decline then.

First off I am very sorry to those who got cut, one who did is a good friend of mine. We had a saying in the Mount Laurel office for Mattel lay offs: L.O.P. time! It stood for Lay Off Pizza. Every time Mattel ML had a lay off they served hot pizza... — read more

Left Mattel/AG 1 year ago. Best move ever.
