Reported in the Madison, Wisconsin newspaper this morning that AG let 15 employees go across three locations in Wisconsin. But ... what the newspaper didn't report is that earlier this year AG offered VERY GENEROUS retirement packages to a large number of employees over a certain age. And, approximately 40 people were smart enough to take the bait and plan their exit with a decent severance and cash to pay their health insurance. So, American Girl will be approximately 50 headcount less but they don't look bad in the public when they 'only layoff 15." Can't imagine the re-organization after-effects for the unfortunate employees stuck remaining there after this house cleaning is over.
