Sesame Street made sense to lose - the only toy that ever made money was the feature Elmo doll

Sesame Street made sense to lose - the only toy that ever made money was the feature Elmo doll. I'm sure if you look at sales of feature Elmo vs. feature Mickey, it wasn't a loss. Disney princesses was a bigger loss, and that's from the arrogance of Ever After High - Hasbro was able to say we'll treat you as our #1 girls brand, not #4 after Barbie, Monster High and Ever after high. Think of the team steering the Barbie ship over the past three years. It wasn't the designers or engineers that caused the decline - it was poor leadership.

When I left the Cali office for NY I was so energized at the pace an vigor that these great designers had and then they brought in these slobs from El Segundo to manage the business. Everything and I mean everything went downhill. Morale has nose dived, and revenue has decreased. Folks have lost the passion I was so impressed with to the point that no one cares anymore. Worst of all the marketing seems to dictate the business. A bunch of childless twits that continue to make decree upon decree about what is good and what isn't. Yet they all survived the layoffs and the assholes from Cali? Promoted.

I now find myself looking at the competition with hopes that I can move back west and find something saner and more enjoyable in an industry that I have loved but as of late dread working in.
