How do you stay motivated?

When you see the wrong people promoted over and over again, when you see good employees shown the door and lazy good-for-nothings still here, how do you stay motivated to still do your job properly and not just phone it in? I'm at the point when I'm... — read more

CBU insights

hi all, serious question here. I might have a chance to get transferred to the CBU, my family and I really love Calgary. Although I am afraid of the long term outlook. Literally all advice I heard from colleagues is only great things about CBU, but... — read more

The Permian is bad?

I can say that I was a bit surprised by the decision of the company to sell Permian assets, after being in the Permian for 100 years. Permian is suddenly so bad or what is all this really about?

Free COBRA

With the new subsidies COBRA went from cheap to free. Not a bad deal. We are loving the medical care. Such a deal!

2021 Compensation Bands

Can someone post the 2021 numbers please. I got an offer for a job in one of the support functions that is apparently a "Psg 23-25" salary compensation band job, I haven't responded yet to the HR person. I would like to know more or less how high I... — read more

I'm here for it

It looks like even brown nosers are no longer safe. A guy who managed to escape every single layoff round so far was fired last week for poor performance. No severance, no nothing. This would not be strange or noteworthy had he not been doing the... — read more

What's with this?

I keep hearing chatter about some off campus site? What is it and where is it at??

ABU layoffs imminent?

Im in the planning / finance function and have seen abu g&a reducing significantly in 2022 and 23. Any reason why g&a would reduce so drastically year on year? Only thing coming to mind is probably more cuts

HR Inaction call

This call embodied everything that is wrong in the HR function. Vague, non-answers to questions, over-moderating comments and questions, and presenters who clearly aren’t even onboard with the sunny narrative they are trying to sell. When asked about... — read more

When do managers know about layoffs?

How much in advance do they know layoffs are coming and who will be affected? My manager, who is one of the good guys, has been encouraging me not so subtly to consider my options the whole last week. I can't figure out what prompted that. Could my... — read more

Opinions can be dangerous

I am referring to someone’s post which says that many choose to be silent so as not to be punished. I know a man who was shown the door very quickly because of the opinions he expressed. These were not some controversial opinions that contradicted... — read more

Has anyone in TPS successfully switched chapters?

Has anyone successfully moved to a new chapter post-transformation? For a variety of reasons I'm finding my daily work to be extremely unchallenging, and not allowing me to fully contribute value within my chapter. There are other chapters I think I... — read more

Capital projects

If LBs intent is to make sure there is no project function in Chevron she’s certainly on the way to achieving. Only ‘right’ opinion is hers, everyone knows to keep quiet and not contradict her

Monthly local pulse survey

I always enjoyed giving local management monthly input. Any office still doing this best practice? Success?

Contrarian for the sake of being contrarian

Somebody here says something bad about Chevron and everybody bites their head off, because how dare they! Somebody says something positive about Chevron and everybody bites their head off, again, because how dare they! People here are either all... — read more

MW in African garb?

Anyone else see that video of MW in a African garb? Instead of focusing on looking "woke" I think he should work on listening to the employees and work on the morals.

Thoughts on JG town hall

I personally felt it was out of touch from what us employees really feel. Every manager has over 30 people they manage now, and JG acting like that's unheard of is troubling to say the least.

What’s the deal with HR?

I’m new to Chevron and have seen a lot of posts on here about HR and RM. what exactly is going on that they are so frequently discussed? Sorry I’m so oblivious to it. Thanks!

TPS

Why did the post about the disastrous TPS townhall this morning get deleted? If you missed it real time demonstration of J’s opinion is the only one that matters

Too many self-serving egomaniacs

The difference between Chevron when I started working here and Chevron now, is that there weren’t as many self-serving egomaniacs here before as there are now. Or does it just seem to me that there weren't that many before? They do everything... — read more
