Some interesting words

Interesting when people write comments here telling us how we should feel, what not to say, when they are not going through this layoff. It is okay to have these feelings, talk about them, and then move on. We have good days and bad days. You have no... — read more

Anyone considering returning to RJ?

I swore I wouldn't go back after the way we were treated, but with the job market being what it is and having no luck these past 2 months I'm unfortunately considering applying in January if I haven't found a permanent position by then. I've never... — read more

Prayers for all of you.

I hope that all of you who were involved in this layoff are doing ok. My prayers go out to all of you. Please try to avoid too many negative thoughts, they do nothing but add to your anger. In the end, this will all turn out well for all of you. ... — read more

Reap what you sow

I’ve spoken to many of my former coworkers that were left at RJ and they all say the same thing - no motivation, loyalty to the company has vanished and they do the bare minimum. The latest layoffs have completely changed the culture and environment... — read more

Verification

The severance agreement mention a 3rd party to verify employment. There is a code listed as well. Is this the number we use on application for employer contact number or do we use the RJ main contact number? Thanks.

What's happening in IT now

Anyone that is still in touch with people still working at RJ hear anything. Last week I heard that management is paranoid with changes. Every little thing is scrutinized to the nth degree. Its come to the point that nobody wants to do anything. ... — read more

ESOP and Profit Sharing?

I've seen it mentioned in a couple other posts replies but I think it merits its own posting. I've been with RJ just over 5 years (well used to be with RJ). Each year it seems we get roughly 5% Profit sharing and 2% ESOP. I know I heard in one of... — read more

It's finally hitting home-freedom

It took 2 months for me to start not thinking of RJ and work. I still wake up in the middle of the night and think about things I used to do but that only lasts a few minutes. I'm to the point now that I am embracing retirement, albeit 5 years to... — read more

Just got Severance taxed at 30%??!!

I just received my Severance check stub and I see it in my bank to be deposited tomorrow. It was taxed at 30.3%. I was not expecting anywhere near that, this is quite a bit less than I was thinking it would be.
