Interesting when people write comments here telling us how we should feel, what not to say, when they are not going through this layoff. It is okay to have these feelings, talk about them, and then move on. We have good days and bad days. You have no idea what this layoff is like until you are in it.

Being between jobs is a horrible ordeal especially during COViD . Be kind to yourself, find ways to reconnect with your skill set whether it’s projects around the home, volunteer work, classes, etc. You are still the same fully capable person you were when you were working. When I was out, I used to wish I had an employee badge just so I would feel like I belonged. Just remember it’s not an “if” it’s a when, and keep at it. When you have bad days, step away from the search to do things that help you restore yourself, whether that’s exercise, yoga, meditation, coffee with friends. No one can wrestle with a job search 24 x 7.
