Big changes coming for systems in the next month or two is the word.anyone knows about this?
Microsoft won a big contract with hp for big crm cloud deal. Expecting more customers to flee oracle and salesforce.
Entire cloud deal management team laid off in Bozeman on Wednesday.
87 employees laid off in order to have cheaper wages in Texas.
Oracle should sell hardware off to HPE and focus on a strategic partnership to continue solaris/sparc and HPE can focus on the customization.
I think this would solve the hardware profit decline and loss of customers.
Oracle should be out of business
Oracle is surviving by selling their crappy database product with 1990s level tools that are expensive but stupid and incompetent decision makers in some companies are dumb enough to buy this stuff and force others to use it and ruin their career. My... — read more
Expect to hear about layoffs shortly before or after earnings. I don't expect hardware and license revenues to be overcome by cloud growth.
Earnings report in a few weeks should be telling.
Good luck with this one http://fortune.com/2016/08/22/oracle-hardware-cloud/
Donatelli has been leading the non-performing hardware business and will now be trusted to lead the cloud business? Can anyone shed light on this guys history? Will he be a conduit for MH to conduct reorganizing and restricting i.e. massive... — read more
Departing Tomorrow
I'm getting the axe tomorrow - I am not supposed to know but my manager isn't old school Oracle (still has a shell of a heart) and alerted me so I could get a jump on something else. I'm told they are cutting three positions but have read they do the... — read more
Times are changing
One of our major problems is that Oracle and other legacy IT companies have relied on selling on high-end, high-margin software and hardware tied to big up-front purchases. Now that we have a huge Cloud revolution, which spread payments out over time... — read more
BDC in Dublin.
I used to work in BDC in Dublin. Though a great school for junior sales, it was incredibly stupid as a job. People would create fake, million dollar opportunity, pipeline was a joke and the job was a joke too. You would be made to call clients just... — read more
Ever get amused at those "Life At Oracle" articles on the internal portal?
We see regular RIFs in different departments. We're underpaid compared to the rest of the tech industry. Our customers looking at alternatives that are cheaper and that don't lock them in. I wonder where the internal PR team finds these people with... — read more
Oracle plans to start major layoffs in sales related departments starting next Quarter and Q3. They will still promote and hire Class Ofs.
The Class Of program is to replace experienced sales reps. Currently Oracle is in motion to ilminate expensive senior reps by making a third in Quarter (Q1) compensation plan change cutting commission rates in half, only being credited pay on 80% to... — read more

Growth at Oracle?
Written by a smart investor regarding Oracle: To understand the hyperbole of the Oracle management team, go back 3 years to 2013 and listen to what Ellison said about "engineered systems" in the Q4 press release: “Exadata, Exalogic, Exalytics, SPARC... — read more

Is it really true that the cuts were massive?
I am refering to a post here (Post ID @HPShMoK-vfg ) that claims 1/4 staff cuts. I left in 2014 and really have no clue what's going on. I know that Hurd loves 'financial discipline' but 1/4 may be a bit too steep...
