Oracle Acquisition of Avaya

How likely is it that Oracle will be making a move to acquire Avaya? Any thoughts on this?

Poor Avaya, whoever they are.

Tainted by the possibility of an Oracle takeover - my heart goes out to them.

Don't do it, it's not worth it !

Why would Oracle want to acquire Avaya? Another managed hosting solution?

Oracle is in the habit of buying other companies, get their customer base, and kill that company. Oracle moved from an innovative company to a company that buys innovation. Forget about investing in it's own employees, forget about encouraging innovation within and DO NOT FORGET all the H-1B & L1 Visas it keeps giving every year!!! to get cheap labor from India. What a shame.

Avaya is cheap now, I would not be surprised.

If Oracle has the cash and they can buy the asset at a good price and can get a good return on it, why not?

This is all speculation.

I don't know the answer on this. That said, Oracle is getting ridiculous. They need to stop buying companies and re-invest in their employees. Additionally, I've never seen such abusive and corrupt management. They stiff hard working individuals and don't pay out on commission plans. How is that legal? And how do they keep getting away with this? I can only hope someone looking to work at Oracle looks at these posts and thinks twice about ever stepping foot in this place. Oracle should be getting awful press right now for how unethical they are.
