Always the same

It seems that this company prefers to RIF employees with many years of experience and those who have earned a little higher pay with their work. The average and below average ones always seem to be safe?

Will keep happening this way

Unless every group unionize....then it will be negotiated before notifications. This won't happen in such a short notice with a union.

Lay offs today

Verizon lay offs today. They are actually giving employees two months to find some thing else internally versus the standard lay offs right before Thanksgiving. A lot of Wireline impacted.

I hope it’s just malicious rumor

That the layoffs are around the corner.. I can't believe this is true given that we are very understaffed. Does anyone have more detailed information?

Has anyone had any success with getting their Religious exemption approved? Several articles out there indicate companies are claiming 'undue hardship'.

Mixed feelings about RIF

I would love to be RIFed because it has become unbearable to work here. On the other hand, my anxiety about RIFs is through the roof. Which departments will be affected? Does anyone know?

Quality doesn't matter anymore?

I have been working here for a long time and in the last few years I've noticed that the quality has become less and less important. Leadership seems to be no longer interested in quality at all. I don't know how good of a strategy this is for... — read more

Vz stock

Hans wins an award for vac cine education from the ad council. meanwhile the stock price is one of the worst performers on the Dow while the stock market is at all time highs. More lay offs coming.

This is not cutting costs

Maybe I don't understand the math very well, but.... Getting rid of best employees I would never call 'cutting costs'. Verizon is getting rid of people who do great job to later hire people who are neither doing their job well nor are interested in... — read more

Dogs are loyal

mission impossible

I’ve come to the conclusion the there may never be another retail layoff. Especially in East Texas. Most stores are understaffed. So just throw on that blue Jean shirt and fix the customer Facebook.

A smaller company that does not support mandates
