Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VZ Turning point ...

From a wireline standpoint the downfall was when the company thought bringing in wireless leaders to 'turn it around' with their fake personalities lack of true ability to manage a business and changing a culture to only thing that matters is everyone gets along.

Wireless success was happening in the beginning despite the leaders (how could it fail - it was a no brainer situation). Now that there is competition and the success is no longer a given we can see how good they actually are.

The ability to manage a struggling business is much more valuable than riding a wave of success. We can see now how that is turning out!!

The downfall is when the public caught on to how overrated and expensive Verizon Wireless has been.

“We frankly don’t care’ if T-Mobile and Sprint merge” Verizon CEO (Lowell McAdam) says

Oh you should have cared you F0OL

The downfall was when BA bought GTE. Face the facts.

@mbt+1jwIjSQz In what world would Go90 and Yahoo be attributed to the wireline side of the business?

Well, the clowns running VZ allowing competition to beat our a$$ into the ground. I live in the Verizon landline footprint about 75 miles to the west of DC….only internet option from big red is DSL….Comcast was pretty much it and now Shentel (GloFiber) is laying fiber in the neighborhood. Well, I bet I get fixed wireless….I’m right down the street from a pretty crowded tower and get about 200 to 250 down on my VZ cell phone but no FWA from Vz but guess who has it ….T Mobile. Paying off this remaining balance and moving over to TMobile…..with Veteran Discount half the price I am paying now……WAKE UP VZ!!!!!!!

Wireline was a good old boy network… telecom not tech. Give them a geographical monopoly and they’ll keep it running forever. Not too much involved.

Wireless works people to death in call centers and unachievable sales quotas so people get catty and backstab each other. Snarky attitude spoils the whole operation.

That’s funny…most people think that Vz started to tank when wireless bought out the Vodaphone interest and started merging the business units.

saturated markets, stiff competition, all while wireless leadership's vision for the company floundered. just like when worldcom arrived on the scene. and we all know where that ended.

Is this union fan fiction? The least profitable and slowest group who struggles to make their targets is some how being dragged down by the profitable side of the company?

The people they got now are muppets. They don't see the difference between saying something and doing it.

Your kidding right? Wireless was kicking a-s and taking names until the suits a VZ decided to take over. Wireline has had nothing but failures...FIOS, Go90, Yahoo, oh the list goes on...day late and dollar short. If you went to any meetings in Basking Ridge...it was 20 wireline to 1 wireless.
