State Farm Property Complex

How much overtime is required for the department and would you consider this a good starting position? I have 2 job offers on the table, and i'm trying to decide between the 2. The main benefit I see with state farm is working from home. Is there... — read more

SF's reputation in the industry

Unfortunately, I hear more and more bad comments about SF. What do you think about the reputation of this company in the industry?

Nepotism runs deep………

You would think a company of this size would be able to keep family members from working with each other directly but I that would be expecting too much. Why is it okay for husbands and wives/ parents and children to work in the same dept, same... — read more

The grass is indeed greener elsewhere

Don't let them convince you that the grass isn't greener somewhere else. That's exactly what they've been doing lately. Ask anyone else though, ask those who worked here and left. Most of those who left would never think of coming back here again... — read more

Is claims still a skeleton crew full of ECR’s?

Just Curious the title is basically my post, I left about a year ago to pursue something way different than what I was doing. When I left it was an absolute dumpster fire of call backs on claim errors, and policy holders obviously finding those... — read more

IT exodus continues

Talent continues to walk out the door. Even execs are leaving and pointing at senior execs and saying … bye

State Farm

I left in 2018…..man TheFarm became dumpster fire…..I was in estimatics and they pushed us out the door and now I’m hearing they need people…..LOL……I’m not coming back, this hub system was an horrible idea but you can’t tell corporate that. I saw... — read more

Auto estimatics !

It amazes me that the farm is now trying to write estimate from pictures. The body shops end up doing the work for our estimators in providing pictures while terrible estimates are being written. Geico and Progressive physically inspect every car and... — read more

Not solving problems creates even more of them

Yes, many people are missing, we are very much understaffed. By not doing anything to fix the issue, the problem is deepening even more. I gave notice because I couldn't stand being overwhelmed with work for such a long time. Will SF finally... — read more

Anyone work in SFPP?

I have been working for SF 10 years and ended up moving to the Phoenix hub in Jan 2019 due a new job offer. I worked in SFPP prior before moving and wanted to see how it's going in my old department. I saw SF closed all of the LOC beginning of the... — read more

*** Do not work at State Farm ***

If you are considering working at SF or are a current employee, go find a new job or do not even consider coming to work at SF. Over the last 5-6 years our current CEO-MT has completely fleeced the company of all of its claim experience. SF... — read more

LAY OFFS

So the rumor is....there are going to be significant lay offs announced!

So much stress

This is such a stressful environment. I did the same job in another company, so now I can make a comparison. There is incomparably more stress here. No day goes by without some stressful situation. Is there anyone here who can relax (at least a... — read more

Working in claims

Working in claims at SF is definitely not a job for me. I would appreciate it if someone who worked in claims at competitors could tell me if it is as miserable as here?

Agents come first

The only thing they care about is agents. That’s it. Not customers, not employees. Just agents. The stark difference between the way they handled the company’s 100 year milestone for agents vs employees is a perfect example of this. Agents got... — read more

I'm surprised that more people aren't leaving

I've quit. A lot of people are leaving, but given the working conditions here, isn't it surprising that even more people aren't leaving? At one point I thought the attrition would be much higher. The management has obviously been very lucky so... — read more

Memos

People are now getting written up for pushing back on the ridiculous mandatory overtime requirements. Be prepared for people quitting at higher rates and increase in the amount of mandatory overtime.

Spending most of the time sending applications

Venting is good, but a lot of venting is not good. I hope you all spend more time looking for new jobs than trying to find the best words to express your dissatisfaction here?

SF is next

Watch and see. SF will be next just like other companies to give its employees an added "benefit" of travel expenses to have an abortion. I would hope they really think about it before they jump on the bandwagon like Di-ks Sporting Goods, Kroger... — read more

It will be interesting to watch SF from a distance

This company has changed a lot. Some think it will get even worse. At the moment, it's hard for me to imagine what could become worse than it is now. In what sense do you think things will get worse? Could it possibly get any worse than it is... — read more

Fixing other people's poor work

It is not my responsibility to fix the poor work of my coworker! The worst part is that my manager doesn’t think so, so I fix the coworker’s mistakes almost every day. Anyone else who has to deal with that? How do you handle all this? A colleague... — read more

Better times around the corner!

Here is what to expect. Of the 10,000 people SF is going to hire around half will be gone within a year. Expenses are going through the roof and growth is slowing down. Still good but never the less still going down. Geico and Progressive are... — read more

No hope what so ever!

I've been with SF for 28 years and going to retire in 4 more. I have a business outside of SF so that gets me to 55 and I will be done! Great now that I can take my medical and delay taking my pension. We are starting to get a lot of the new hires... — read more

Going beyond the job description

Yes-it is the same everywhere

For those in denial--this is copied from thelayoff.com Allstate Insurance earlier today. Sound familiar? No, it's not fun. But it's insane to pretend that it's a State Farm problem and to deny it's an everywhere thing. It's time for transparency The... — read more

Same issues from year to year

It is sad that employees have the same complaints year after year. I can only conclude that State Farm did not intend, nor does it intend to improve anything here. I wish I wasn't right and if there is any issue from 6-7 years back that has been... — read more

They don’t care about SF

Management only cares about their income. Did they invest any effort in retaining good employees? If they did, I didn't notice it. Do they care about the future of this company? Unfortunately, I don't think they care about that at all. — read more

Who's next?

It will be worse: what are the arguments?

There is a lot of truth in the posts I read here, but some also exaggerate a bit. Those who think things will get worse here usually give no argument as to why they think so. What are your arguments?

I would not recommend this company to anyone

I just discovered this page and I've been reading through the posts. I can say I agree with 90 percent of what's been written here. State Farm has a highly toxic culture that is employee unfriendly. Merit means almost nothing, in part due to rampant... — read more

Risk management company fail

Selling more policies year over year while letting the staff dwindle seems to be a blatant breach of the contract, the promise to service the customer when life doesn’t go right. It’s as simple as that!
