China Lifts Exit Ban on Wells Fargo Banker Amid US Trade Talks
China has released a Wells Fargo & Co. banker it earlier blocked from leaving the country, according to a person familiar with the matter, ahead of a potential in-person meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

US makes it harder for SK Hynix, Samsung (and Intel) to make chips in China

In China, EVs are now cheaper than gas cars. In the U.S., the Big Three still haven’t closed a premium that’s $14,000 per vehicle

This will likely be Intel's future

The once great Chinese property giant Evergrande was delisted from the Hong Kong stock exchange Monday. Intel's path to delisting will take a different path and include a breakup and sell off of major pieces.
What does US govt stake on Intel mean?
US has no choice but to help Intel turn around its business in the hope that it will provide chip manufacturing security against China. Without the full details of the stake, we can only speculate what stipulations the US gov’t has imposed on Intel, if not talks are still on going - but…IFS and ProdCo split is likely going to get more pressure. Chip manufacturing is US top priority, chip design is aplenty. This is a boon for IFS since the gov’t could help in many ways to get the customers it badly needs. For ProdCo, it cannot stand alone and it has to find a host to attach - hello Qualcomm!
But before this happens, big internal battle is being played out. NS will not concede without exhausting every tooth and nails. Good luck!
Nvidia and AMD And China
The White House has reached a preliminary revenue-sharing arrangement with Nvidia and AMD, requiring them to hand over 15 percent of their China AI chip sales in exchange for export licenses. However, officials concede that the deal’s legality and operational framework are still unsettled. Critics point to two major legal barriers: the U.S. Constitution’s Export Clause, which forbids taxes or duties on exports, and the Export Controls Reform Act of 2018, which explicitly bans fees for export licenses.
A Supreme Court ruling in 1998 struck down a similar export-related fee, reinforcing the potential vulnerability of the proposal. While the State Department does collect fixed fees from arms manufacturers under a separate law, the White House plan ties payments directly to export value, making it unprecedented and likely more controversial.
Supporters, including Trump, frame it as a way to raise government revenue while still allowing U.S. companies to sell advanced chips to China. Opponents warn it could be challenged in court by shareholders, state attorneys general, or other stakeholders, and that it sets a dangerous precedent for executive authority in trade policy. The Department of Commerce is still determining how to implement the arrangement, and officials have hinted it could be extended to other companies beyond Nvidia and AMD.
Dell to Fully Exit China by 2027
I recently heard a rumor (not officially confirmed) that Dell Technologies may be planning a phased withdrawal from the Chinese market, with a complete exit by Q3 2027. Below is the timeline I heard:
2025 Q4 – End of Production
Closure of Xiamen & Chengdu factories
2026 Q1 – Sales Reduction
Halt consumer PC sales, end new enterprise contracts
2026 Q3 – R&D Relocation
Shanghai R&D center moves to Singapore
2027 Q3 – Complete Exit
Deregister legal entities, keep compliance only
Major US & Israel HC Cuts... What about Asia and Low Cost GEOs?
We've all seen the headlines where there's thousands of US headcount being laid off, and some teams in Israel being impacted. But I haven't heard much if there are big HC cuts in China, India, Vietnam, Eastern Europe, Costa Rica, or other lower cost countries/GEOs? Anyone know if the HC cuts are also taking place elsewhere? Or is this the old sleight of hand trick where they fire 5K US employees... but hire back 3K in Asia/Low Cost GEOs?
Will hire thousands in India in the coming years

Time for people to go into fields that cannot be outsourced. These jobs require someone to physically be present - onsite - and cannot be performed remotely. Best yet, jobs that require US Citizenship.
-
Government work requiring access to sensitive data or security clearances
-
Police/Security work that cannot be filled by H1B visas
-
Any medical specialty that cannot be replaced by or sent via network to India for completion such as: billing, xray reading, labs, diagnostics, etc.. - (Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Doctor, Medical Assistant, Dentist, Dental Assistant, etc...)
-
Construction (Electrical, Framing, Roofing, Painting, Landscaping, Plumbing, etc..)
-
Repair (Air Conditioning, Mechanic, etc..)
-
Real Estate (On-site Property Appraiser, Real Estate Agent, Investor/Flipper)
You get the idea... If it can be performed over the internet or over a networked connection by someone sitting in India, Malaysia, China, Eastern Europe, Mexico, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, etc... then it will. If it is a job that H1B visas can be imported to perform, the employer will bring them. The US government does not care at all about the people or whether it's citizens work. Only you can protect yourself.
Lots more mfg being out sourced to start in Aug and then Engineering and development to go, some to move to San Diego and Costa Rica
Lots more mfg being out sourced to start in Aug and then Engineering and development to go, some to move to San Diego and Costa Rica. VP's are way too greedy to worry about whats going on. This will be their downfall, trying to make an FDA and higher compliant component in Costa Rica. They tried outsourcing systems to China and failed miserably.
