I've heard some serious mistakes were made in the November layoff selections. Now Follett is doing some damage control by eliminating people who were directly involved. Karma's a bitch isn't it.
What happened to....
Josh Brauer?
When are the next layoffs?
I'm fed up. I'm ready for it to be my turn. Sorry for those that are sad for being laid off. Some of us are being tortured daily and need to be set loose for our own sanity!
Business plan?
What has Mary lee said is the strategic goal for Follett, inc. ? Has the business plan been made public?
Who's left?
Can we (who are no longer privy to the employee directory) get an accounting of RMs, GVPs and senior VPs who are still with Follett and were part of the old regime? According to this board it looks like a random scattering of regionals, HT, JH, CW... — read more
A rare thing
So I've been looking through these posts for awhile and I have to admit I do have a certain sense of satisfaction that the senior managers who never gave the little people the time of day (and worse) are getting their comeuppance. And while it is not... — read more
Got to love
Getting invited to a town hall meeting and then getting uninvited a few hours later.
Retards
Laying off some while looking for ways to advance others. Discrimination at its best!
Whats up with IT
Laid off from Follett IT last October and the plan for IT at that time was outsourcing starting with external websites websphere, POS, warehouse and accounting systems. Don't see much on here about IT. They still outsourcing or did CIO realize that... — read more
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
No more bunkers for Home Office Directors, or cherry wood desks and nice leather chairs for VPs. It is hysterical seeing Directors sit along with their teams in cubicles. Oh, the disdain I'm sure most of them are experiencing. Meanwhile, Mary Lee... — read more
Its not that bad.

New HO Director
Follett just hired a new HO director reporting to a director. Guess where the new director comes from? For all the cuts that have been made, not a single penny has been saved because of the HO bloat
Money well spent?
Guess whose staying at this resort in April, for business of course? http://www.canyonsuites.com
Deception
This is how lame some management is. Besides getting co workers to go against each other they employ people outside the company such as consultants, vendors, and customers in their tactics. No matter how close you are to a customer or vendor do you... — read more

THE NEW OFFICE IS INCREDIBLE!
HT....was that his mommy ?
HT might have been one of the good guys once but I personally I have zero respect for him. He played favorites when it came to promotions and did little to to add value during any of his store visits. Not sure how he has avoided the same fate of... — read more
Regarding H. Taylor
Howard is still with Follett because he is one of the good guys doing a wonderful job of serving his customers and his staff.
Wondering
How in the hell is Howard Taylor still with Follett?
Sooo.. What's the new office like?
With the "open office" floor plan
Bids
Southern Oregon bookstore is soliciting bids from follett and Barnes . Let's let them know all about the Follett we know!!!! http://siskiyou.sou.edu/2014/02/25/for-sale-sou-bookstore/
Where's Mary Lee
Someone posted earlier that Mary Lee was going to be visiting stores....anyone know where?
FSS had record profits last year
But it still wasn't enough for Follett. The plan for next year is growth, growth, growth. Record profits aren't enough. They want more. They lay people off to save money, but waste it left and right.
Rally the troops
If you know of any school or hear of any school thinking about awarding follett a contract please post it here so we can educate those schools on the ways of Follett. A lot of times these call for bids are public and are mentioned in the local school... — read more
Operations support
You are exactly right on regarding those who only fly on airlines to pad their personal miles with little regard to the company's bottom line. I think we should start naming those whom we know are the abusers.Years ago Follett used an outside travel... — read more
Recommendation for management
I certainly realize that cutting staff is effective in curbing overheads but there are additional ways that won't effect the customers but are often overlooked. For example, many of our employees fail to book the lowest airfare and simply only fly... — read more
The trenches
I am more interested in outing the losers who have sold out their employees to save themselves...look at the recently promoted...stepping on the heads of employees now gone who put a lot of blood sweat and tears into follett only to be told to GTFO... — read more
Don't Name Names
I'm not corporate, but one of the laid off. Don't name names or initials of those who have been laid off. Its very disrespectful to those who were laid off. It's a very traumatic, and personal experience to be let go from a job. If the person laid... — read more
Time for a revolt for sure!
There is power in numbers. Little do some of these new managers at the home office know, overthrows are being planned. Nepotism is at its peak right now. When one needs the knowledge base of others to survive, one has to be cognizant how they treat... — read more
One person can make a difference
To back up 6871 I know of a bunch of follett contracts that were lost because of one man's relentless pursuit to expose Follett's business practices...anyone who used to work in the St. Pete area might know what I am referring to.
Time for revolt
For those of us who have been laid off and have gotten our checks....maybe it's time for an email campaign to the follett family or the board or follett contracted schools..they can't do anything to us now. We need to go public with the horrible way... — read more
Expecting increases this year?
FSS is being setup to fail next year. The expectations are unrealistic and guarantee failure which will cause bad feelings between divisions when the company doesn't make its goal again. Morale is low and anger is high.

Been in the Westbrook office one week-packed in like sardines. Totally unproductive because of the noise volume and employees gabbing. Messed up FTP too. Can't imagine when the others from OB and WM move here. Company saving tons of money on reduced... — read more

Layoffs done for a while
For those still at Follett, word has it the layoffs are done for a while.
Love my new office in Westbrook
Great choice of new offices, thank you management.
West Coast is coming online. Any West Coast hits?
Some are more deserving than others to be "selected"
.?
Anyone know who the regionals were or where they were from? Where was the District Director from?
How long can we make a buck
I just don't get it. After reducing payroll by over 500 employees, the bottom line profits must be up. After all, we budget for some losses at the customer level and we still get at least 50% of all new RFPs. Margins have slipped but that was... — read more
