Hiring Freeze Coming?

My friend who's an RM caught wind that a hiring freeze could be on the horizon. We are trying to get clarity on "what" this means for internal candidates (if the freeze would only impact external roles). Has anyone heard anything?

How to convert Cisco to a great place to work?

Try: #1 Commitment to no layoffs. That should not be that hard for a XX billion company. #2 Free food and all the other Google-like perks. Competitive salaries (I cry every night when I think about how much my friends at other companies make). #3... — read more

The Cisco Network Cloud

Greatest innovation ever at Cisco. Add 100 lines of config to a switch with a static local login and you can now see active switch-ports in green on a web GUI. Didn't Ciscoview do that 30 years ago with SNMP?

Robbins’ salary for the 2023 fiscal year was $1.39 million, the same compared to the prior year. Robbins also received stock awards totaling $24.11 million, non-equity incentive plan compensation of $6.27 million and $78,053 in “other compensation”... — read more

The Most Toxic Company I've Ever Worked

Who said it's No. 1 workplace in the world? What source? How come it can ever be ranked as No. 1? Having worked at several tech companies, it's the WORST and LOWEST company I've ever worked. No skill or experience required for any role at Cisco... — read more

Today I resigned

I bluntly told them that my manager is mediocre and I need more pay than what he gets to continue. He doesn't even know how to speak English and not sure how he became a manager. Cisco su-ks as long as you encourage these mediocre talent.

Cisco Beat

Omg could people ask d-mber questions? Yet they have such a self satisfied look on their faces. They just wasted the time of tens of thousands of people.

Surgical cuts

Is it just me or are we now at the point where Cisco is performing constant surgical cuts instead of having one major round? It feels like I hear about somebody being let go (laid off, not fired) at least once or twice a week. I don't remember this... — read more

There's so much more out there

I left Cisco San Jose a couple years ago when it became clear I was no longer the target demographic. So glad I got out of that sick twisted corporate culture. So glad I got out of California. I check this site now and then to see if anything has... — read more

Board

GSSO Incorrect LRs

It is very clear that the wrong people were LRd this past week. The Global Security Sales VP and Engineering VP and Americas Sales VP should have been LRd. Every decision from them has been a complete disaster without any planning. All these... — read more

Chuck The Kn!fe....

... is back in town! Hearing the cut this time could be 10-12%. Any truth? The management in UK is very conspicuously silent on the numbers. Not a peep out of the SE Director or from behind the VP's beard.
