Focus on high growth market? Biggest joke!
We should ask what's Cisco capable of? Besides knows how to parroting AI?
Cisco is telling the world Cisco itself knows it's a los-er but still wants to have a nice pie everyone else having.

...AI, data science, cloud, software, security...
All abstract technologies. Customers buy solutions and even if Cisco had a bunch of people dabbling in the labs it doesn't necessarily mean they'd have anything a customer would actually pay for.
Splunk already had their layoffs. They are not exactly a happy crowd.
Looking forward to the hungry Splunk talent coming on board.
The high growth areas - AI, data science, cloud, software, security Cisco has already lost. Cisco needed to be there at the beginning to create the agenda but now the ship set sail with others setting the AI agenda. The ones who ace at AI are already doing it, not talking about it with a bunch of PPT and vaporware. Cisco late to the game yet again and irrelevant in this critical field. Cisco missed all pivotal transitions in the past 15 years and let others lead. Cisco not culturally geared up for advanced techs based on software.
Usually vague reasoning means they don't have a clue. My guess would be the Company slowly dissolves itself, selling off assets. Then the ELT gifts themselves lavishly. As for the Employees, watch for a mass exodus by the plane loads back to the motherlands.
New for 2025:
AI ELT Team
Layoff full-time employees, and replace with contractors (without benefits)
Publicly claim it's to focus on high growth market. (Cloud, Security, Software, AI)
welcome to chuckie's world
