It looks like GSSO is accelerating their demise. Apparently, they are taking us and making us front line CSS / TSA for the entire security portfolio. Making everyone a security generalist for the entire portfolio is a disastrous direction. The... — read more
Very poorly managed layoffs
Maybe it's just my personal impression, but these are one of the worst managed layoffs so far. Couldn't they at least have managed it a little bit better?
What is TAC coming to?
I saw this in a Linux space recently: Hi guys, I hope you are doing great today. Im about to start my Linux journey, and I dont know where to start. Im currently going to see a couple of video tutorials (Cisco provided and one on... — read more
Teams hit a second time after initial November LR round!
Interesting! Couple of teams reported that they have been hit a second time since the initial November 2022 round! Is this a sneaky clean up round to help meet Q4 numbers?
If I'm applying internally for a new job after being impacted, do SWE roles still require a technical interview portion?
Is there anything different about the internal application process that sets an applicant apart from a general applicant other than Cisco supposedly considering us with priority? Or does the internal application process only require a behavioral... — read more
Pay-In-Lieu Benefits
Maybe I am just d-mb, but the way I read this as a part of the early separation is that we get the early separation (severance + cobra) and then the pay in lieu benefits is an extra 15 days pay + pto + rsu acceleration and bonus? any help... — read more
Two-weeks notice
What's the worst thing that can happen if you don't give any notice? I'm so tempted to do it, but I have this feeling that I might be shooting myself in the foot even though I can't figure out how. It's not as if they can fire me and I have no... — read more
PAN is a joke
It’s 2023 and they expect sales people in the office? LOL! Say what you want about Cisco, but even they aren’t this stupid! “ We expect office-based employees to be in the office four days per week, with one day working from where they choose. We... — read more
Unbelievable amount of destruction
I can't escape the impression that leadership has become extremely destructive. Maybe it's a harsh to say, but often they seem not at all interested in the welfare of this company nor its future. The proof of that isn't hard to find, is it?
Another round and another and another
More cuts coming, many more. No one is safe in the coming months. Good luck
Anyone else dedicating this weekend to your resume?
As a software engineer, I just can’t take working at this place anymore. The layoff this past week put me over the edge and I’m totally over working for Cisco. Just so much disrespect from leadership. So if anyone else is in the same boat, I’m... — read more

Working in a smaller company
Some advise me to look for a job in a smaller company after being laid off here, while others say that it's a step backwards after working at Cisco. Any thoughts? Perhaps someone has experience to share, I would appreciate it.
Globle Sales Layoffs Confirmed for Mon, July 31st

Layoffs Planned since November

Laidoff, with ongoing critical project nobody taking over
Whole team gone. This is so ridiculous. Project owned by another VP. I wonder if any VP cares the whole business any more than his own butt.
Layoff? Perhaps only in US because not even on any news media
Recent layoffs are considered to be very small only in US. There is no news media that is covering it.
Worldwide layoff
This is the first time layoffs are in sync world-wide. in the US, you can fire people any time. That is more difficult int the civilized world and so the layoffs always started there a few months later. What has changed?
Laid off! Treated like dirt!!
I can't believe how the Cisco culture treats people like dirt once they are laid off. I'm very hurt! I realized it before, but now I see it first hand.
Room for negotiation?
Has anyone successfully negotiated any aspects of a separation package with Cisco before?
Thoughts on Cisco CEO sending promotion emails during layoffs
Chuck is sending out promotion emails and congratulations CP right after the lay off day. No empathy for the employees who got impacted by layoff. He could at least wait for a couple days
Mobility gutted
Looks like a slow wind down. All good engineers gone.
The blame game

Is layoff/LR money a lump sum, or do they cut you off when you find a new job?
Can I just take the 4 month option if I have a new job lined off, and take a 4 month "bonus", or is there some reporting in place where they stop paying severance when I get a new job?

Several engineers are impacted in TAC
Was Maria hired to systematically destroy TAC, one of Cisco’s strongest functions? Because Maria has systematically destroyed TAC and made it little better than a chat bot.
