Anyone with any historical knowledge of how the acquisitions were handled with Texaco and Unical? From a people/lay-off perspective?

Seems like during the unocal deal we had to re-apply for our jobs. Will this be handled like a ROM?

This question bugs me, I admit. If that is indeed the case, to what degree could they plan to cut at Chevron? Is there a clause in the merger deal that prevents Chevron from firing Anadarko employees after the merger?

When companies merge many times there is a generous severance package for anyone who loses their job. I wonder how good the CVX package will be. Could be a perfect time to bail out.
