@yfsf, IT may be irrelevant to you, but it’s very relevant to our Indian employees and contractors who mainly make a living in this tech area. I think IT will be taking a huge hit in the upcoming layoffs at Chevron. Lots of them will be taking a magic carpet flight back to Mumbai.

OP doesn't know anything about IT or Microsoft if he thinks Microsoft does "IT support". All the work that Chevron is doing today with Microsoft is on the development side of the business. IT support is going to be your Indian companies like LTI and Tech Mahindra supporting all these applications that no one cares about. I suppose the idea of the OP is similar. YES, IT support will shift to these companies. Get ready for some big cuts.

AG might be the highest PSG and appear as next-in-line, but probably the least impressive of the IT FLT. Have you attended one of her townhalls? What a fumbling mess. Everything seems unprepared, ad hoc, but hey I guess that's what they call "agile" these days. Just because someone worked with JG in the past, doesn't mean that they should be next up. Nothing will change about Chevron IT. LEAP is a giant expensive disaster, and guess who planned out and kicked off LEAP several years ago? Yep, it was AG indeed. And now we have platforms and bold goals. What an unexplainable mess.

IT works ok, the problem is misaligned incentives and fragmentation. CIO is a tough job in this environment.

Nailing the comments regarding IT...A place for high PSG managers who have no IT technology background and vision to hide. countless $$ and time spent on projects, initiatives etc..many different teams under the IT umbrella and working against each other. Very little is ever accomplished and when it is it takes FOREVER.

ImagineIT is led by someone who's already announced retirement when there's so much time left until the new org is announcement. The rest of the team are also filled with truly unimpressive people with boring imaginations. They even got the #ImagineIF #RememberWhen guy on the team to help them #imagineIT. They are so far removed from reality. The good news is that the people announcements from upstream that have come out so far looks like it's just going to be status quo anyway. So this group of people probably won't change up IT that much. Same song, different verse.

The CIO’s days have been numbered since management completely over looked him and put someone else in charge of the digital transformation. He’s been a ghost since then. He’s a “keep the lights on” guy whose org can barely keep the lights on.

IT needs a metric and dashboard just to track the number of metrics and dashboards it creates.

CIO is a joke, knows how to manage old tech, not digital. Obviously thats why they brought the digital lady. If CIO stays put after #imaginebullshit we’ll know they’re not serious about changing anything. Guy has been in charge of IT for how many years?

Shift costs that appear to cost less but actually end up costing more in the long run. Our CIO is a joke who measures everything by metrics with no substance behind them.
