Through the Employees Eyes

I'd love to hear your thoughts today, even if it's just a one-word response. What do you think about the possibility of layoffs happening after TG and before RTO, specifically during the first week of September? Do you agree or disagree? #anxious... — read more

Demotivated employees

Everything the company has been doing in the past few months has been ki-ling my motivation and I know I'm far from the only one. Many companies have failed because their employees simply didn't care anymore and it looks like we might be next on the... — read more

New hires?

I have seen welcome aboard announcements recently for new hires. Why in the he-l would Schwab be hiring right now in the face of layoffs??

Layoffs in SWA and Advice Roles

Has anyone heard about any layoffs in SWA or other advice roles? They are projecting that this area of the business will be a long term revenue generator, and have said that advice solutions is going to be their focus for the future. Unless I’m... — read more

Where’s HR?

Wouldn’t HR know what groups are being targeted for layoffs? Why is no one from HR speaking up?

The real reason we are upset

Schwab used to be a wonderful place to work when Chuck ran the company. We knew he cared about us as employees. That made me want to work so much harder for him. Today things are much different. Yes, we are upset about RTO and layoffs but that is not... — read more

STS- Stay/Leave- counter?

The environment su-ks. Obviously. I’m an SME for a very specialized niche product in STS, with over 15+ years experience. Honestly after all the talk of layoffs. Some of us feel that our group of onshore developers are safe- due to the nature of... — read more

Pay band question

What’s the max for level 57? Westlake. Also I feel like I’m up there just from what I am seeing other 57/58’s post. Kind of sounds like a crazy conspiracy - but yea.

Doing minimal work

It is interesting that there are also those who, due to fear of getting laid off, work more than ever, thinking that it will make a difference. I wonder how they manage to focus on work in such a tense atmosphere?

What would a layoffer calendar invite look like?

Would it be from direct mgr, MD, etc? Would it be a meeting including others or just a 1 on 1? At my previous job we had a large group meeting with someone from HR who walked us through a power point. But I am guessing it is different here.

Why do we need CEO and President both?

I'm a campus hire from pandemic era so pardon my ignorance but why do we need both President and CEO. What is that President can do but CEO is not able too? isn't that like more than $10m savings right away.

Scrum Master Layoff...?

Did anyone see any Scrum Masters get laid off this week? Yesterday it was explained that a Scrum Master is gone and while it was said that they don't "think" it's related to position eliminations, I'm not convinced as said individual is not a job... — read more

This week's Layoffs, different from those coming

I have heard that this week's layoffs are separate from those coming, announced 2 weeks ago. This week's were part of the 'original' plan, not this new one. This would explain why they weren't so much management focused.

Not wanting to RTO = Voluntary Resignation?!?

So I asked direct questions today about the RTO situation. The only thing the email said was “inaccurate timesheets are cause for termination”. All the info on MyHR is about the old (now seeking glorious!) policy. The “deal” supposedly is that if you... — read more

Salary

While I have you guys here, wondering how much people make depending on your level? Sr. Specialist vs manager vs senior manager vs director?

Inverted pyramid LOL

Ah yes. For those level 56-58 that are MD’s Congrats to anyone that bought that bullsh1t!

Slow moving coup

This is the weirdest layoff approach I have ever seen. Its like a very sloooow hatchet job. We will be dead from anxiety before we can cash the severance.

Unvested RSUs

What happens to u vested RSUs if you are laid off? Do we loose them or do we get them as part of severance package?

Raise after the layoff

After the layoff, I think it’s a good idea to ask for a raise if I have survived after all is said and done. I’ve received them before, min 10% increases for a 58. What do you think? The pool is smaller and for a layoff of this scale here, seems... — read more

Work should not feel like this
