Western Digital Layoffs 2023
Will there be any Western Digital layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?
These layoffs did not surprise me at all
The writing was on the wall. Considering how badly managed this place is, it's only surprising that the cuts weren't even bigger. Agree?
Why there is no mention of the layoff ??
I also layoff from WDC - work here less then a year, and i see that there no mention, on any news site and anywhere. I know that besides me, other people were also fired, from different countries and continents. And unlike all the companies there is... — read more
Finding a new job at age 50+
I try to think positively but I am aware that it will not be easy to find a job at 50+. How to get a good job at this age now?
Sad and disappointed
All these years, I have been doing my job as diligently as possible, trying to be the best at what I do in order to add value here. At one time I had some solid offers to leave, but I remained loyal to this place. And what now? My experience can... — read more
What's the fuss? We're still WDC
Oh wait...but WDC now stands for Western Digital Cisco. This leadership only cares about lining their own pockets while they drive the company we all worked so hard together to build, into the ground. What a never-ending sh-t show.
Older workers fight back!
We don't need take this behavior. We delivered strong results, but the young employees who don't contribute get all the rewards and job security. This is just wrong. If we don't stand up to them, more employees will suffer this fate. All the... — read more
Legal information for us older workers that were exited from the company yesterday
This rif was definitely age discrimination given most people impacted were 50+. I did some research on the class action lawsuit for discrimination a few years back (which cost the company $7.75 million dollars). For those of us who fall in this... — read more

Wtf was the shareholder meeting?!
“Are you going to talk about Elliot?” “No” Okay that concludes our call. Freakin’ less than 10 minutes of content.
If the manager tells you that you are safe...
don't trust him and rather prepare for your next career! - This is my most sincere advice, so that no one else would be surprised by RIF because of having a complete trust in their manager, as I once had.
They think they are doing great things
I used to be proud to work here. Unfortunately, not anymore. Does it also seem to you that our executives think they are doing great things? My impression is that their inflated egos do not allow them to see things the way they are and admit to... — read more
I cannot find WARN records about WDC layoff
with my understanding of this company, they will be letting people go at the rate under 50 people at a time. I think they do not want to trigger to file a WARN report.
Why hire people just to fire them?
Some of those folks who were laid off less than a year after they were hired left good jobs to come here. They thought they were being given a legitimate opportunity just to end up kicked out with nothing to show for it. That shows such utter... — read more
Age criteria
Judging by what I hear from those who were impacted, it seems that the age was one of the main criteria for these RIFs. If this is true, shame on this company!

First Finance. Next Engineering
I think they will lay people off in stages. Let's look to other groups. I am in the same boat as this unemployed finance guy. I don't have much to do and I am also being ignored. Will going for an internal transfer help?

Nov 1 to Nov 11 Layoff coming
Massive layoff coming from Nov 1 to Nov 11. The size will be similar as Seagate. Be prepared. Your VPs have a name list already. BoD is negotiating packages with David Goeckler if San Disk get sold or spined off. In other words, either way DG will... — read more

No more layoffs
