Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

A lot of dead weight

While some do enough work for several people, others are almost useless but they still stay here. When will this place finally get rid of all the dead weight?

The one thing I’ve learned working for a corporation, especially when it comes to marketing, is that it’s more about quality than quantity.

@deadweight you know after decades of consolidation two US companies accumulated the best talent and mobility is low. Some of us grew up in this industry and earned our place, while others new and preparing to be the next generation. A historical employment pattern, so one day your time will come and someone will see you as dead weight.

They say you can judge executive teams by how they react when times get tough. I think recent cuts to core engineering teams, while enjoying international offsites and acelerated executive stock grants speak volumes.

It's almost as if they know they're on the way out and just seeing how much they can grab before they go.

It’s not my fault if I don’t get assignment. No where to go anyway.
