The writing was on the wall. Considering how badly managed this place is, it's only surprising that the cuts weren't even bigger. Agree?

It's so sad what this new leadership team has done to this company and there is no accountability. They keep collecting massive paychecks and never once do they say "we are going through a really difficult time in our company history and given we need to cut expenses (including job), we will also be reducing the leadership's team compensation plans" That would be leadership that employees would gravitate towards.
The recession is only beginning. Bank of America says corporate layoffs will be in 150,000 per month in the first quarter of 2023. Western Digital will definitely cut more heads. Company has a lot of dead weight. It also feels like they are offshoring more tech jobs and just leaving management and customer centric jobs in North America. It is a poorly run company with a long way down imo. Storage is like electricity, so they continue to survive. I think there will be some consolidation going forward once the company split is announced by DG.
