Sorry, just had the urge to scream.
Do you know of teammates who are going to be laid off before they do?
There are some perceived underperformers who are clueless right now that they are going to be laid off, but pretty much every one on their team and other business partners all know. Are they any people like that who you work with?
Employee Handbook
So the new handbook came out and the displacement table is gone. It does say 60 notice, but how many weeks you get in severance is not available. it also emphasizes STAR

Microsoft?!
I am starting to think that the real reason WF brought Charlie as the next CEO is because he sits on the board of Microsoft. This is starting to make sense. IMO, the board wants Microsoft to take over Wells. It’s a perfect marriage. Think outside... — read more
Work has evaporated
I am in risk/compliance and the work has completed dried up over the last month or so. No work being assigned. Sitting here twiddling my thumbs. Bloody awful!

To those of you who seem to be on the pro-Charlie train...

Retail ??
Retail Services? Anyone have any thoughts about this small portfolio? My thoughts are that though it is small, it tends to always be profitable and that politically, it might look bad for Wells to drop a bunch of merchants during a recession. So, I... — read more
Switching Roles to Avoid Being Laid Off?
I’m wondering if there’s any merit to this strategy. If a manager somehow managed to get approval to post for an open role, I would suspect that the new role is important enough NOT to be obliterated a month or two later. What do you think?
Unemployment
After severance ends, are we eligible to collect unemployment from respective states?

Wells Fargo needs to promote people based on merit
The main reason we are doing as badly as we are on all fronts is because incompetent people get promoted - or hired - over people who have the knowledge and experience to move this place forward. For as long as nepotism and good-ol-boys-club... — read more

Is Wells Fargo the next Wachovia?
It was only 11 years ago when Wachovia was close to bankruptcy and Wells Fargo battled with Citi and won the Wachovia buyout. Granted what happened to Wachovia 11 years ago are not the same circumstances that Wells Fargo is going through. IMO, there... — read more
