Microsoft?!

I am starting to think that the real reason WF brought Charlie as the next CEO is because he sits on the board of Microsoft. This is starting to make sense. IMO, the board wants Microsoft to take over Wells. It’s a perfect marriage. Think outside... — read more

Work has evaporated

I am in risk/compliance and the work has completed dried up over the last month or so. No work being assigned. Sitting here twiddling my thumbs. Bloody awful!

Lately my boss has really been pushing entering time in Workday. Not sure if something is coming from the top of the house, but it seems out of place and highly pressured. I know others on the team enter time in workday, so not sure what this push... — read more

Being kept updated by the Media and this forum

I’ve just discovered this forum while reading what the media is covering about the company. I have been getting more info from this source than I am from work. I’m very concerned but it seems my peers think they are immune to the layoffs or perhaps... — read more

Retail ??

Retail Services? Anyone have any thoughts about this small portfolio? My thoughts are that though it is small, it tends to always be profitable and that politically, it might look bad for Wells to drop a bunch of merchants during a recession. So, I... — read more

Switching Roles to Avoid Being Laid Off?

I’m wondering if there’s any merit to this strategy. If a manager somehow managed to get approval to post for an open role, I would suspect that the new role is important enough NOT to be obliterated a month or two later. What do you think?

After severance ends, are we eligible to collect unemployment from respective states?

Wells Fargo needs to promote people based on merit

The main reason we are doing as badly as we are on all fronts is because incompetent people get promoted - or hired - over people who have the knowledge and experience to move this place forward. For as long as nepotism and good-ol-boys-club... — read more

Anyone recall when GM couldn't make good cars?

Remember back in the 80's when GM, Ford and Mopar couldn't make good cars? And the Japanese were flooding the market with better cars? Take GM as an example, GM was so moribound - they would hire new talent right out of college. Yet, that new... — read more

Is Wells Fargo the next Wachovia?

It was only 11 years ago when Wachovia was close to bankruptcy and Wells Fargo battled with Citi and won the Wachovia buyout. Granted what happened to Wachovia 11 years ago are not the same circumstances that Wells Fargo is going through. IMO, there... — read more

Not sure how this is going to work

Speaking of WFA Home Office: I have NO idea how they are going to safely manage bringing people back in to that building. It’s mostly open concept now, with many packed in to close quarters, and no cubicles. (Some departments do have cubicles, but... — read more
