@qc They are never a “big thing”. They are for people who are ready to walk out the door. A lot of people think these offers are some great financial windfall, but they should just be the icing on the cake if you planned properly.
This offer ain't no big thing, unless you were 90% out the door already.

When the company declares a surplus, is the declaration for the general geographic market/city, or can they say there's a surplus at one particular address within that market?
Also, let's say a surplus is declared at one address and those at that address have more seniority than people who are at another office/address in the same city where no surplus was declared. Can someone at the address where no surplus was declared be bumped?
@cz Id you look at history of the cost of medical insurance that 8k payment will be 15k in another couple of years and then throw in the copays too as you pointed out. Unless you're almost Medicare eligible and your spouse is too, it's a tough nut to crack.

It is definitely a REAL offer regardless of the nay sayer in here. It's so easy to confirm the declaration by going to the union sites like CWA1101, IBEW local 2222 and 2325. I saw my husband's offer and should he take the package, he would be off payroll on October 11, 2026. He cannot accept the offer before September 18, 2026. @ab those eligible for Medicare are getting a nice push with $110k+ but those not eligible for Medicare are stuck figuring out how to pay for retirement medical running $8k a year + deductible and coinsurance that could reach $15k in a bad health year.
To be clear the offer closes 10/2/2026 with an OFF PAYROLL date of 10/11/2026. There is no termination date as you aren’t getting terminated if you accept the SEIPP.

We, or rather, some of us in CA received the same or similar email today after a touchpoint call with our AD. Not everyone on my team received the email, only three did including me. It's weird to me that it wasn't all-hands call.
I can't figure out why the three of us were chosen. I'm middle of the road in seniority and the others are on tbe high end with service time.
We were told it is 100% voluntary and there will be no forced reductions if no one volunteers.
