I think the Layoff will be in April in the first payroll period - similar to last year. This is so sad because so many good people are affected. L-3 has been a wonderful place to work with hardworking, devoted people. I hope we can pull out of this!

If you get escorted to talk to HR at the security desk the day of layoff, before leaving your area with your supervisors tell everyone that you "Just won a prize at the security desk". Leave em laughing, I say.

What do we know so far?

Just casually mention to management that you are pursuing an online degree in Business Management from any college.. but preferably University of Phoenix. That might get you off the list....

Operations needs to shed at least 200 employees between the VSO and the upcoming forced layoffs. Get your resumes updated!

All this talk of CSW being sold/renamed/etc...was that just from the reorg with Mr Mega being our new benevolent overlord, or is there something separate in the works?

The writing has been on the wall for a while now. Profits have not been high enough to sustain the current level of employment.
