So if we have 70K people here in the US and they are telling us they cut 1,700 the overall impact on the IBM USA workforce is 2.5%.

This is common practice with IBM every year around the end of March. In 2008 there were 3 layoff totaling 15,000

I got my RA letter today. After being rebadged to IBM after IBM took over infrastructure responsibilites, 18 months later I'm here. Being 57 doesnt help much either.

35 years with IBM. RA'd today in Research Triangle Park NC. Was told my SAP Development skills are obsolete - yet they just brought on 2 contractors last month with same skills. BS! I doubt I'll hear from any of the postings on GOM.

IBM Security tech sales RA is happening right now... This is on top of a forced move of people to gts last month. Big cuts, deep and wide. Talent and experience disposed.

GTS north america got hammered today. Many many many head counts. Me included :(

300 will be laid off, still talking to the unions. this is related to HCL/divestiture. we'll see how things pan out for for now it looks like this is the entire batch that will be let go...

Watson Health has started - folks impacted will have their meetings today. Folks are getting three months to find a comparable job or leave.

I just got RAed off. Says IBM is taking a new direction... Straight to hell. I was a top performer I just got let go along with another person in my area. RA'sh--ting everywhere now. We were in GTS.
