All the cheerleading in upstream and IT about cost savings from India… and the BTC folks come in here and complain about poor pay, high attrition, bad expat management and overall low talent. Sounds like #winning to me!

Ofcourse, best way for an underpaid CEO to raise his own salary. Why wouldn't he raise pennies for worker bees so he can get a raise bigger than $$$ and come out of poverty and into prosperity. #winning.

Are remaining XOMers really naive or cunning?

Reading all the BS posted on LI (and some arrogant ba----ds here) by all levels of remaining XOM employees (primarily by those with authority) I am thinking are these XOM posters really naive, ignorant, or have they become cunning because of the PDS process? I mean do they really not know how the company run by mgmt. committe and supported by HR and legal treated our fellow employees during the layoff process? I am pretty sure everyone here now knows atleast one person who got impacted. But I guess you don't care. Have any of you even called any of your "claimed" friends after PIP or layoff or are you following no contact and no engagement orders from HR gang?

For those naive, ignorant, or cunning (you decide which bucket you fall under, some may fall under multiple) suckers that claim not knowing how our peers were treated Iisted the treatment below. How do I know? Because I still keep in touch with my friends that got laid off and listen to them and offer any help I can and no I will not follow HRs no contact and non engaging policy because they don't own me, my feelings, and my relationships. I get paid for work u sell to XOM and don't owe the company anything more.

Based on my conversations with some of my friends who got laid off this is what I had heard from them, by simply listening to them.

  1. Some shared that their manager/communicator had started ghosting them starting 2 weeks prior to and leading upto the Dec 01 lay off communications.
  1. All I spoke to said the communications were robotic, scripted, feelingless, and dry.
  1. Some people's access were revoked 30 minutes after the communication, placed on garden leave, and were still told too help with job transition or risk their severance. Which of the id--ts in HR came up with this process, lay off someone, take away their access, and then threaten then to help with job transition? And we still care about our people asset?
  1. HR robots couldn't do a simple mail merge for mailing address. Result? Mis-match of people names and addresses resulted in laptop addresses sent to wrong people and addresses. Next? Those that didn't receive laptop boxes as result of this snafu started receiving emails from HR reminding them to surrender their laptops or risk losing SPOSA. A few people said they surrendered their laptops to their last supervisors and still received non receipt emails from HR.
  1. Several of them said the uncoordinated efforts between HR and COBRA mgmt. company delayed their COBRA packages. Some are still waiting to get their ARPA reimbursements.
  1. This one is for the famous LI poster, yes you! Most I chatted with confirmed them receiving congratulatory retirement letters after layoff. Now, this is sick, insensitive, hurtful, and inhumane. The HR robots striked again, but still couldn't figure out how to have this snafu avoided.
  1. For dual career spouses, if one spouse got laid off and other remained employed, the one let go is "banned" from coming on to the campus to drop off, meet remaining spouse on campus. This is really #winning and aligns with #WeAreExxonMobil
  1. A lot of you know that a lot of those that got pipped didn't deserve it and right after undeserving getting pipped you cut them off too. #WinningAgain

So those of my remaining peers that are naive, ignorant, insensitive, or purely cunning this post if for you. You have now been informed what happened during the lay off and how #WeAreExxonMobil treated our peers. This information is now public, so do not claim you don't were not aware about this information and hiding behind it to continue posting your insensitive and sh---y posts on LI, here, or anywhere else.

I do not want my XOM peers who are brown nosers to take over this post posting all of the negativity and so I kindly request any of those folks that got laid off or pipped out to post their experiences on this thread so non of my remaining peers claim that they didn't know. No more hiding behind "I didn't know".

Not sure what’s going on with upstream hiring. Initially we (recruiting teams) were told no targets for 2022 and to bring in sophomore interns for future hiring in 2024+. Then this week we get a rushed email from upstream recruiting advisor saying hey so whoops we actually do want to hire a few dozen ppl and do you have anyone for us? This is after all the campus recruiting was wrapped up. Like yeah let’s just go sift through all the rejects that weren’t already referred to downstream sites and send them to upstream. Can’t make this up. #winning

Also, lies would be another reason along with non transparency. The mgmt. is so shameless that they will continue to repeat lies even after knowing and having proof that their lies have been caught by employees. They would wake up next day and still use the same lie.

Also, giving people opportunity to ask questions on Slido and then completely ignoring all of those questions that do not fit their pre planned agenda that also include lies. Continue this cycle everytime. It is amazing how mgmt. at any company can get away lieing to its employees and that to every single time. I mean how do they maintain this track record? May be that's why all the hype and arrogance about WeAreExxonMobil and we keep #winning by lieing.

Because the XOM mgmt. and this site owners have collaborated to use this site for their benefit by first holding the info. back from employees so they can come here and vent. When they come here and vent, XOM mgmt. start shouting admin admin and the admin gives in and removes the post. The post gets reposted and the vicious cycle continues keeping the XOM post counts up. #winning

At the UNCONV forum, the Mgmt said they are not decision makers - not able to address HR / attrition related concerns - these are Dallas level decisions.

So now we try to ask the chairman, and are told it’s a waste of his time!

@zcf+1d1FdCtx Truely sad and heart breaking. If you share this with the mgmt. they and other Kool aid drinkers will keep singing WeAreExxonMobil and #winning. Employees seem to have become extremely disposable and the least important assets for the company.

This post is a good example of the toxicity and acidity that exists within the organization. Like a zombie apocalypse, the byproducts of ranking process are now turning against each other openly and fiercely. We all can proudly say now, Weare ExxonMobil and we are definitely #Winning now.

They are also recruiting at a few US schools. Nothing says #winning like firing junior employees and then rehiring fresh new hires that don’t know anything. Must be a PR tactic to maintain good school relations.

Product Owners are all from the functions. If you think your IT sucks a big fat one, you can thank them for being the sole determination of what gets worked on. They have no real experience or expertise of a real Product Manager at a high tech company doing product research, market research, defining product specs, etc. but that is what your VPs in your BUs said the business users wanted. So congratulations you got what you wanted, cause IT is so easy rights? So complain to your function counterparts in CTC and the BUs for prioritizing what work gets done on the Digital Platforms. IT LT prefers it this way, since they now get to shift responsibility for building garbage to the function folks and get to claim credit for adding business value. #Winning in any environment!

OP here, no pip. NI pip is for less than 5y. I have 10+ . The NI is enough for me to start my exit. Exxon has made it known to me that my attributes do not align with company desires. Fu-k this dumpster fire. #winning

MLRP and it's knock-on effects

I used to love my job, and this company. I used to stick up for Exxon, and tried to use their gas and products exclusively, and promoted their products to anyone that would listen.

In my work groups, I was typically the first one to the office and the last one to leave. I always strived to outshine my peers through sheer hard work. Extra hours, extra projects, taking on initiatives and created extra work for myself. I consistently performed and had a good attitude.

Then I was NI'd last week. What an absolute load of steaming pile of garbage company. They do not care how hard you work. Why? Because they can get 10 of you in India for the price of 1 in America. . Even if half of them suck, they're still ahead.

I now hate this company and am working my exit. heartbreaking, really, Feel like such a fool for ever "believing in ExxonMobil."

This is #winning for ExxonMobil. #WeAreExxonMobil and we fu----g suck. Way to go, d-mbasses.

So you aren’t buying the best opportunities for career growth BS? More like best opportunities to be PIPd in the shark tank the Permian has become. Sending VP pets out there and then not giving any relief on ranking bucket distribution. This is exactly the corporation moves people every few years, to avoid them developing niche and expertise and deep technical knowledge in a specific area to be marketable outside. If they dont have depth, they are less marketable outside, if they are less marketable outside, they have to accept the slavery. Simple but effective approach. In light of Juneteenth being deemed a federal holiday, one of our great leaders JJ found it fittinh to send out an email saying that Exxon is so happy and proud about Juneteeth being commemorated that we’re not going to observe it but we should instead self reflect on it. I understand it’s on a Saturday this year but it won’t be forever, so why not make the move now? Just another example of exile having clear and “free” ways to improve morale while simultaneously refusing to do some.

It was the revealed that Exxon made a 13,750 pac donation to support anti-trans legislation and politicians, a great addition to pride month I might add.
