Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

XOM board and Threads Appear to be Most Active

The XOM board and threads within on this site appear to be the most active compared to the competitors boards. Why so?

Is it because the XOM culture has the most toxicity and is restrictive of openness that the employees use this as a medium to vent and speak up their minds that they can't do openly within the company boundaries?

OR

What other reasons there could be? If only one company could earn the medal based on the activity alone it would definitely this board. And the mgmt. Would happily claim we are xom.

As a supervisor I can attest to the fact that we are forced to lie, to save our own necks.

Is assessment meetings emoloyees are treated as commodities, that is the wost part. It really is hunger games or squid games is the recent trend I guess.

Also, lies would be another reason along with non transparency. The mgmt. is so shameless that they will continue to repeat lies even after knowing and having proof that their lies have been caught by employees. They would wake up next day and still use the same lie.

Also, giving people opportunity to ask questions on Slido and then completely ignoring all of those questions that do not fit their pre planned agenda that also include lies. Continue this cycle everytime. It is amazing how mgmt. at any company can get away lieing to its employees and that to every single time. I mean how do they maintain this track record? May be that's why all the hype and arrogance about WeAreExxonMobil and we keep #winning by lieing.

@1kej+1djlmEqe XOM mgmt. loves to talk about collaboration but only ranks its people on a relative subjective basis.

Where is the XOM mgmt. now? Do you all not want to participate in this thread calling your admin as always?

Because the XOM mgmt. and this site owners have collaborated to use this site for their benefit by first holding the info. back from employees so they can come here and vent. When they come here and vent, XOM mgmt. start shouting admin admin and the admin gives in and removes the post. The post gets reposted and the vicious cycle continues keeping the XOM post counts up. #winning

Look around, the CEO's of Shell, BP, Total, and Chevron talk to their employees, shareholders and even the public. The last time DW appeared was in a bid to save his handpicked board, then silence...The VP's tell us their doing everything they can, but the decisions are made in Dallas...EM is completely leaderless.

No transparency on a lot of things within the company. A lot of stuffs are done behind closed doors or swept under the carpets. The amount of information "leaks" and employees "activeness" tells a lot. This lack of openess/transparency vs compounding lack of trust for the management are what drive the active participation on this board.

New toy for XOM as layoffs never happened at XOM. It’s pretty common for our competitors to hire and fire people.
Pandemic, once in 100 year event, impacted our plans that made us resort to layoffs.
No surprise that it came as a shock to folks. No surprise activity is high here as a result.
Rest are secondary reasons by a mile

It has the most rapid rate of change amongst the IOCs. Theorem: Post rate is proportional to d$/dt.
