Is anyone on this forum not working on their exit plan?

I’m in drilling and a well known VP has a son in my group. What do you think the chances are he isn’t flagged a high potential and pushing out the rest of us for a top spot in the ranking. Helps to have a famous last name.

If you think you can’t get a job outside of ExxonMobil apply at other oil companies. They are still hiring. Many options if you are willing to move to the Permian.

It demoralizes me terribly. Why is the company rewarding toxic behaviors? Isn't that working against itself?

Attrition has slowed down. Indicates to me that most people can’t make more money at other companies. So why all the complaining?

Decide now what you expect your ranking to be. If you don’t receive what you deserve resign and go elsewhere. Complaining on this board without action on your part is not going to lead to different outcomes for you.

You have options. No need to stay at XOM if you don’t like it. Nothing is more common today than changing jobs to find a place that better aligns with what you want. What is stopping you?
