We somehow got used that Dell is quarterly oriented firm, and to see many of our colleagues lose their jobs, usually by the end of fiscal year, but waiting for reductions this year is almost unbearable. This merger uncertainty is taking too long.
Are we still clueless?
We have been waiting this news for almost a year, and now when the layoffs in Dell are officially confirmed, no one seems to be sure when the axe is coming down, or which sites will be hit. And numbers I hear vary from 2000 - 3000. Has anyone got... — read more

Any news regarding Ireland?
First time posting here. Anyone knows anything about expected layoffs in Ireland or EMEA region? Thanks
Dell Software had a BIG reduction on Thursday
Dell Software had a BIG reduction on Thursday in USA - EMEA and Apj to follow. Former Quest was really hard hit. John Swainson has driven this thing into a ditch but showed not contrition whatsoever.
Major Job cuts in supply chain, marketing and general & administrative divisions
About 2K announced, with attrition will be closer to 5K, plus they will continue to cut into 2017 - nothing is stable about dell now, VMWARE, EMC, Pivotal, you name it, it's all so unstable right now. Plus, let me tell you, that mountain of debt is... — read more
Michael Dell took his company private so he wouldn't have to report results
This means he no longer has to bear the criticism of being a terrible CEO. Private or not, he's still awful. Swainson was just a highly paid lackey. But he did bring on ridiculous people from CA. The whole DSG operation was run into the ground -... — read more
Dell Software layoffs 2016 and 2017
No posts on this but there are many lingering questions about possible layoffs at Dell Software that will come in 2017 and maybe in 2016. How many folks will be impacted? Nobody knows! What about locations that will be annihilated? Nobody knows!... — read more
No Ownership
I really could not stomach working for such a large organization where all the ownership is vested in one person + his financial investor. Why do they have a problem with the staff having even some small share in the future financial success of the... — read more
Quest Mistake
The Quest acquisition was a mistake from day 1. Swainson had no intention of trying to grow a software business at Dell any more than he was able to grow the software business at CA. It's a shame that his incompetence and the incompetence of his... — read more

BTW- Dell is not laying off
Worked for Dell for 7 years on some VERY cool stuff. Yes, there are some issues but none I haven't seen also working at Cisco, GE, and JPMorgan Chase. The pay has been quite competitive and bonuses are regular. Like one of the comments above said... — read more

Working at Dell
I left Dell in 2015 after 5 long years there. The company was just too big for me – I felt I was making only a marginal impact no matter how hard I tried. Dell is highly matrixed in every aspect, especially when it comes to making decisions. It took... — read more
