Why can't we have voluntary LRs?

I don't understand what is so hard for the ELT to have a voluntary sign up of people who wants to resign. There are a couple of people that would love to sign up. It's not that hard, first get rid of PIP people, then people who voluntary signed up... — read more

Hey Chuck, come join Cisco TheLayoff Board

Ask people for feedback, and they sometimes tell you what you want to hear... Ask them about blind spots, and they're more likely to tell you what you need to hear... Gains in self-awareness often begin with the question: What do other people... — read more

Earlier exit date

Did anybody without a job offer opt for the earlier exit date? I don't see many upsides to it if there is no job waiting for you, so I'm guessing you'd have to be really tired of this place to choose to leave at the end of October rather than a month... — read more

A customer view

I’m a customer of Cisco, in a nut shell they have lost the plot. They are more concerned with when a purchase order will be raised than customer needs and solutions, all that matters is meeting the magic number.

There is life after Cisco

I was at Cisco for around 10 years and left of my own accord several years ago (not part of a LR/ER.). I was an IC at Cisco, but I’m now a manager and spend a lot of time evaluating candidates (and talking to other managers about their... — read more

Thoughts on those who were laid off?

We haven't lost many people this round so I can't say, but for the rest of you: does it once again seem like the pay was the only criteria used to choose who to cut or did they for once get rid of the people who deserved to be given their walking... — read more

UK Consultation Process Joke

DM just sent an email clarifying that in UK they will let go of more than 20 people each at Reading and Bedfont Lakes campuses. Oh, he very kindly included a link to Cisco’s Mental Health support site. I am not being sarcastic, it’s true. These... — read more

If you hate Cisco so much, why stay?

It's one thing to be a disgruntled employee who is rightfully complaining about neverending layoffs and another thing to be outright hateful and offensive when talking about anything Cisco related. It's the second group that I don't get. Nobody is... — read more

Merger? Sale?

With headcount 25k out of our total it usually means preparing for a merger or closing doors/sell off. Of all the talk no one seems to mention this or ask about it.

Should Cisco be split?

How about identifying areas that have potential for growth and will be able to thrive and separating them from the fast sinking rest of the company? Would that help?

LR for non-technical roles

Most LR posts on here seem to be from mostly technical and IT folks- which teams in the rest of the company were impacted (sales, marketing etc.)? Did your LR reflect what others are saying on here (6 months salary and COBRA?). Might give more... — read more

I don't get it

98% percent of people who work at Cisco think it's a great place to work. How? Who exactly are they surveying for these things? ELT, and only ELT? Even if you enjoy what you do immensely, the lack of job security itself should be enough to at least... — read more

Brutal truth about the incompetency of the ELT
