CEO Comoensation

As we touched on above, Cisco Systems, Inc. is currently paying its CEO higher than the median pay for CEOs of companies belonging to the same industry and with similar market capitalizations. But the company lacks EPS growth, and returns to shareholders are less than stellar, over the last three years. Overall, although the company has delivered steady performance, we would like to see an improvement in key metrics before we can say the high CEO compensation is justified.

I thought most best practise guides for corporate governance advocate separation of the Chairman and CEO roles. Certainly in Europe is is relatively uncommon to have them combined. I can't think of any company in UK or Germany that does not have a separate CEO and Chairman (often non-Executive).

CEO compensation is contracted in writing along with a Golden Parachute when leaving. At the end of the day, why do they even care when they get paid 8-figures regardless of how well they do. Then, when they fail, they get another 8-figure payout to be removed.

It's also unhealthy to have CEO who is also Chairman.

Does he hold himself accountable to himself ?

Other than the spelling error exactly what is wrong with the original post that would justify stating “get a life”? Do you think the present ceo is providing strong leadership and producing good company performance vs compensation? I know I sure do not think so....
