Topics regarding layoffs at AT&T

5x week/8hrs in office

Does anyone know when this will be across all organization for all employees L1+? Do they plan on communicating this at some meeting at some point so we can plan accordingly?

AT&T management's idiocy in a nutshell

Company has spent millions on tracking employees and will not spend any money to fix the terrible applications we have to work with. Some days I amazed that our network just doesn’t collapse on itself. This sumps up AT&T management's idiocy... — read more

Attention all craft employees;

T is coming for your jobs. Start working on that degree and or top tier Cisco certs. Trust me it has begun, system techs being offered sipp, standby shutdown and OT needs 3rd level approval. Customer contracts are being rewritten on a daily basis... — read more

How is this supposed to work?

Can somebody explain how this place keeps insisting on hiring cheap labor while expecting top-tier talent? Where’s the logic in that? I’m genuinely curious about their thought process - does it involve magic or something? I joke, but honestly... — read more

T

Well, I am expecting this management to continue to be d-mber than a rock, and with all these layoff and layoff rumors. I decided to short the T stock. There is no way these clowns gonna take away my retirement money or make it depreciate like he-l... — read more

SIPP announced for systems techs

In SE, a SIPP was just announced for systems technician title only. Any takers must be off payroll Dec 14th. Not coincidentally , the next technician layoff list comes out Dec 15th. Looks like the ultimate goal is to eliminate the title completely. — read more

HR Onestop

Who designed and maintains that sh!tshow of a website? It doesn't work on Linux Firefox and barely works on Linux Chrome (aka Google Spyware). Also it'd be nice if the fools in this company can decide on which browser to use for all internal... — read more

BFS Standby

So BFS has no $$ for standby pay but they can still afford to pay Digital Techs to do Wire Tech work?

Read this Csuite

Trust and respect for "Leadership" at AT&T is in very short supply. They don't lead, they follow. If Amazon does it, it must be good. Well, AT&T isn't Amazon and Stankey isn't Jassy. But worse, the Csuite antics from the deals of the century (the... — read more

My mgmt is too demanding

I’m expected to work overtime, and sometimes on days off, just to meet quota. Quota mgmt came up with. Which is also impossible to meet in regular hours with all the people already gone from the team. All of this could be avoided if management were... — read more

Just a guess about Level 3+ ratio

I know lots of layoffs and changes but my guess based on observation is the ratio between levels 3+ and 1&2 has actually increased - just not nearly enough attrition at the L3+. What say you? Am I correct or not.

They're asking leaders to begin planning for RTO and communicate real estate needs. Target date is Jan 1st week 2025. Going to be a disaster.

I’ll use RTO to find another job

I know that for many of us RTO is near impossible to comply with. In my case it’s not that bad, but it still makes no sense. Personal costs will significantly go up, efficiency and productivity will tank. But given that complying with RTO also means... — read more

GM Surplus

Its interesting that there is a GM surplus (level 3 and above) and we are still hiring Directors with no direct reports. Perfect example was in the coroorate social responsibility org a few days ago. Multiple directors with no employees. These... — read more

RTO - a distant memory

I wonder if we will look back on RTO someday and laugh about, “Remember that time when we had to go back in to the office?” “Oh yeah - and we didn’t have enough desks! We had to sit on the floor with dead roaches!” “And that person who had to move... — read more

RTO/Surplus Hose Job

Wouldn't it be great if they all left?

I hope the first surplus in 2025 focuses on the people who simply don't want to be here. The work environment was professional in years past. I think the majority are tired of the endless whining, complaining, and immaturity.

Everyone is leaving

I’m hearing of a mass exodus. So many people contacting me about people leaving the business bc of 5 days RTO. What are you hearing? If there’s one thing I’m sure of, it’s that they have no idea what they just did. The results will be... — read more

RTO and 8 Hrs - Non Exempt
