Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

You gotta take care of you. AT&T wouldn’t care if you were under a bridge tomorrow.

Sobering moment for many of us the last month. If we had a better opportunity out, we’d take it in a heartbeat now. Even severance - rather them rip off bandaid with some dignity to us. That won’t happen. You will have some leave, your work load will increase in ops. Sales midmarket, mass market - we’re getting done over no lube smacked and sp-t on.

Breath, ensure your finances are in order. Put yourself out there to other opportunities. Don’t let corporate America devalue your worth and mental health.

I know T ain’t right anymore. Casually searched in last year with some opportunities I turned down. I will be applying the gas. They talk so much about the culture. I’ve not had it bad as others, but I’m also not a clown. Seen so many of my colleagues let go or done wrong over the years. I’m leaving.

I will miss the people I’ve worked with, genuine connections, opportunities that were once there.

Take care of yourselves truly.

I left the beginning of this month after accepting a new position. I told the new company I would need to put in my notice so the start date changed to January 6th. When I put in my notice I was told they don’t do notices anymore. After 20 years with this company I didn’t even get to work out my notice!!! They don’t care about anyone and yes you are just a number!!! Now finding out from my old coworkers they just cut salaries by 10k still blows my mind how evil they can be. The RTO with no notice was bad enough but to cut everyone’s salary a week before Christmas!!! I would have been devastated if I wasn’t moving on from them already. I can’t wait to get my mental health back!!!

I think they do care. And that's why I love working here.

Never direct reports, but seen a manger in my same market commit su----e in 2021 - was brushed under the rug on market call and mentioned for 2 mins on hour long market call. Her req was up in 7 days. Seen it happen to 2 other direct reports of other managers (medical and vehicle). This is in 10 years. I always thought it was handled poorly.

It’s very obvious they want us all the quit and be replaced. The delusion is that they can easily replace everyone. Problem is, none of the new hires have a pension plan and won’t tolerate the treatment for long. Thus we will turn into a high churn company until stanks is gone.

We all just got our preliminary 2025 quotas. Many 2x, in my case 3x my 2024 quota. Unachievable. So sales will work for our “salaries”, make no or min comm, and potentially be on coaching plan by Q2.
Such amazing Stinky leadership, destroy moral, comp drives behavior, pathetic.
And just “love” the company purchase of ugly holiday blue-white sweaters with the logo.. such a waste of cash.
The STANK stinks.

I didn't trust any of it and decided not to move.

Even in situations where they were paying relo in the past, only 33% took the move. The rest took severance.

Sounds like you definitely need to quit. I mean cutting pay by 10k just isn’t reasonable

Ok, I understand.
Thank you for your response since most people on this board just troll you if you ask a question.
I appreciate it.

They cut salaries by $10 in Platinum mid markets and added $15 to at risk (comp) which you will never earn because the comp plan has bucket minimums where you will not get paid if you are not at a certain percentage in all 3 buckets (very rare). It is designed not to pay and put you on chargeback.
The stink didn't cut his salary at all. The stink isn't on a bucket comp plan.
T is gone. He wants you out without severance. Stick it out, do bare minimum and stick it to the man wherever you can.
Good luck everyone!!!

I didn’t hear about them cutting salaries?
Do you have more information on this?

Anything is better than watching the guy, who just cut salaries across the company by $10k but didn't cut his own salary, parade around the office in a santa clause costume and expecting employees to flatter him while doing it.
He essentially mocked us all.
Being a greeter at Walmart is better than working forth most hated "leader" in T history. Every yes man hates him with a passion and you can take that to the bank.
Oh and I can't wait for this site to delete any anti-Stink post. Censorship in America is pathetic and only for those that can't win arguments and hate to hear opposing opinions or maybe they are paid by the one getting criticized.
What a joke this site is. What a joke stinkey is.
Mocking people you harass is also weak and pathetic. Hi---r did that too.

They don't care. When a direct report dies, see what happens. I hope it never happens to you, but I've seen it. They are evil. And callous. And cold.

The Stink takes better care of all his Habibs in Bangalore than anyone in the US.

Leaving toxic T was the best career move I’ve ever made.
Didn’t move took the $$ and laughing all the way to the bank.
If your are still there ride free as long as you can but when it’s time to go - do not hesitate, life is better post T

Leaving with severance was the best decision. The FTW letter said 3 days a week with an asterisk that said something like "subject to change for needs of the business". We all thought maybe it would lighten up and it wouldn't have to be 3. Even with just 3, many agreed to move and figured they could work out a schedule to commute back and forth until such time they decide it was right to move the whole family. Now it's 5 days and they have no recourse to decline and accept severance.

I didn't trust any of it and decided not to move. Always trust your gut. Never trust the Stank.
