Topics regarding layoffs at Wells Fargo & Co.

Has anyone been offered remote when you resigned?

I’m getting ready to take another offer to work remote. I actually like my job at Wells so I’m a little sad about it. I know this is wishful thinking but they won’t make an exception when you’re ready to walk- will they?

More productive in the office?

If you hate RTO, your metrics should not reflect that you're more productive in the office. While in the office: Work 8 hours, and only 8 hours. Maybe even work 7h:50m or something like that. Less than 8h, but not enough to not make your boss... — read more

Code of Ethics training

What's with the goofy-looking models that were used in the Code of Ethics training? I guess they were less expensive than using photogenic people.

Anyone else find it disingenuous?

Getting lectured about Business Ethics by Charlie, when we are moving jobs overseas, enacting RTO and Location Strategies so that older workers end up quitting instead of being laid-off with severance?

Monday is the best day to go in

If you want to avoid "crowds" (if you can call 40% to 50% capacity a crowd), the best day to go in is Monday, followed by Friday. I've tested out every day in the past few weeks and the office on Monday is a ghost town. Friday is a little more... — read more

Is Business Continuity Still a Thing?

Considering between Workplace, Workday and Teamworks, I could be at any of 3 different addresses. How the heck will they know where to look if one of the locations blows up? This is nuts! How does anyone even know where they're supposed to be?

404 Breakout

Has anyone else found the 404 Breakout game on Tech Central? Basically a little game someone programmed on the website when a page can’t be found. At least someone is having fun at work.

Good on them

Wells Fargo & Co. will pay $32.5 million to resolve litigation by workers who say the banking giant favored its own funds in their 401(k) plan over cheaper and better performing alternatives, settlement papers filed in Minnesota federal court... — read more

I guess RTO is here to stay

I kept hoping it would go so bad that by now we'd be back to WFH but I guess that's not happening. I've been miserable for the past three weeks, so now that I know there's no going back, I'll start applying for remote jobs. It's not my first choice... — read more

Bu-----t

Laying off America workers I feel favor of offshoring and not paying equal wages is racism and corporate colonialism.

Bom/serv mngrs

Just caught wind of their plan to layoff the service mngrs end of the year. Just when I thought this company is gearing towards the good something horrible always comes out.

You are irreplaceable

What is Wells Fargo thinking? do they honestly believe they will be able to continue without their star performers? You should leave now just to show them that pulling back wfh was a bridge too far. I give it six months after you leave before they... — read more

Nothing is guaranteed or lasts forever

I thank my lucky stars every work day that I have a RTO exemption but we've been repeatedly warned that it could disappear tomorrow - which I am sure it will once they aren't as hard up for experienced people to fill my teams positions. It was... — read more

Inflation Calculator

https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/ Determine your real income versus historical pay. Its very likely your income has moved a lot less than you imagined. I'm posting this because many people's brains don't automatically adjust for inflation and... — read more

WFA / WM - Upmarket Strategy?

WF announces a renewed focus on mass market credit cards. It will be difficult for WM/WFA to go upmarket with credit card marketing.

I love my job but…

I’d rather work somewhere like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/comments/tuau9u/now_thats_a_fun_work_environment/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf Gonna start looking. LOL

Smaller Banks Also Have Problems

I've seen it suggested often to look for a job in a smaller bank to avoid the issues that are usually associated with major banks, but the truth is that even they have their own problems. I worked at a regional bank for four years and it was just as... — read more

The supervisor impact

I have read numerous complaints about Wells on this site. Many valid points have been made over time. But one thing has become apparent to me. Although I don't like the layoff cloud that constantly exists over Wells, I do like my job at Wells. And... — read more

Do you think hybrid work mode is a temporary event?

I just read 2 articles one about BofA and the other one about Google. BofA article was saying that bofa is skipping hybrid mode and going straight to 5 days in office one. Also article mentioned that in SanFrancisco big employers are in bed with SF... — read more

WF risking lives w/latest shift

Working with covid

Branches are now making employees who tested positive for Covid come into work if they don’t have symptoms. This is not an April fools joke. My question is what happened to Covid that it’s now not dangerous? Was it overhyped for the last two years... — read more

Losing one employee per week

My team has been losing one employee per week since RTO started. Needless to say, none of them have been replaced yet and we have been forced to cover their work. I admit I'm freaking out a bit right now because if it continues like this, those of us... — read more

I have received contact from recruiters

Every time the job they have to offer is not as good as the one I have with Wells. I am not looking. But if I ever get layed off, I hope this is not some sort of indication of what the job market will be like for me.

‘Pouring gasoline on the fire’

Just another sh!tty move by Wells when the internal sites say: “See how we’re investing in a better future for our communities and our planet.” Despicable! https://stocks.apple.com/ASn8n86BjQIC3ppU0CWERTQ

Wells Fargo stopped severance?

I heard someone tell me this and now I can’t find severance in the employee handbook. I remember this used to be called the team member handbook. Atleast they are being upfront about us not being on a team. What a rotten company. They actually put a... — read more
