All - we have to remember that God is still in absolute control. This is not to say that bad things won't happen to any or all of us working here at VZ. No employee is perfect...no manager is perfect...no company is perfect. I am thankful for the job... — read more
It's not the same company I used to work for.
I put in 35 yrs with the Bells & Verizon, missed many meals, events, Holidays & birthdays. The most disturbing things I see is failure to maintain plant & disregard for customer service. I see talk about gearing up for younger customers, making the... — read more
Enough with the wireless vs wireline
Good people are having their lives and families horridly impacted. Who cares what business unit they are in. We are not each others enemy.
We've grown so big, so slow, so fat, so clumsy, this had to be done
I very much disagree with how they approached the problem, the speed, the choices, etc. but at the same time I guarantee you that 90% of Wireless folks would agree that something had to be done. Look at the Areas, Regions, layers, and more layers of... — read more
So The Next Cuts are in January?
Can someone confirm (or have heard the same)?
Wireless folks should have unionized.
Now, it's too late for us! This full-on resource massacre will turn into a slow bleeding torture by thousands of small cuts in 2016 and 2017.
Wrongful Discrimination- Class Action Lawsuit

If you're going to go, this is a better time for it
The umemployment rate is down, and companies are hiring. I've seen rifs on wireline when the economy was in the shitter. I think a lot of people commenting here are from the wireless side, and this is coming as a shock to them. But I've also seen how... — read more

Earlier today as I walked to the restroom I witnessed a marketing new hire training class get herded into a room.

Severance
How does this work? Do I get the severance amount listed PLUS 2 weeks pay for every year I worked? Or is it just one lump sum of that severance amount listed? if so is this paid out on the last check or is that separate?
Millennials ARE Important
People here who are criticizing the leaderships aims to target millennials are missing the point. By 2025, Millennials will RUN the entire economy as far as purchasing power and labor. This isn't a surprise. I am super upset with the layoffs, and... — read more
Why wireless never unionized
Denny Strigl took the Wal-Mart approach back in the early 2000s whenever a wireless call center flirted with unionizing. Close the center and relocate the jobs to a new location down south. It happened enough to where people opted to lay low instead.
Wrongful Termination or Employment Attorney In Alpharetta GA (possible Solo or Class Action)?

Ongoing lack of vision and planning
20+ year employee impacted here. The leadership failure here isn't what occurred yesterday. It was the lack of vision that led to the overstaffing that was a 'roadblock' to our future success. It wasn't a 1 day leadership failure. It was an ongoing... — read more

Re: UnionGuyinRI Thanks for the info, it is much appreciated. Everyone, I think we should at least CONSIDER the option.
