Curious, if anyone in the 65+ demo has ever tried to either negotiate severance or Sue for discrimination?

No we did not, just signed and left.
Back then we had 12,800+ or so employees when I started with a handful of products. It has since become bloated.
@ac How'd you do it? How much did it cost you?
Got a much better settlement ... push!
Companies go out of their way to give people in their late 50s and onwards a more generous package to avoid litigation and avoid showing up in the news.
Always get a lawyer involved.
Its definitely happened. I'm pretty sure lawsuits don't make it to court. They just settle.
