Has anyone been transferred to a new team multiple times in the same year? And not under the same director. Is this a sign of a layoff coming?

This is a sign of a toxic workplace where nobody wants to remain.
The entire organization being remade multiple times in a year screams of directors coming in, making their mark, then leaving. Just so another director can come in and do the same thing. I've seen this very thing happen, some guy comes in from GS, gets promoted, and is gone and unheard of within 18 months. Rinse, repeat.
It's a meat grinder.
My manager has changed 4 times in last 12 months.

Great question. Tends to be the norm as teams consolidate, layoff & “re imagine” the next phase.
Good ol DF is getting rid of people left and right and, in a microcosmic version of WFC and other NY Banks, EF's like Tech or the LoBs are picking up the rejects. They're just gathering job "slots" so they can replace the former Corp Risk employees with their own cronies within a year.
They are playing chess - so they say.

@ad I'm keeping my head down and working, but working hard? Nah. To get the severance package, you have to walk the line. Don't make enough trouble or slack off enough that they can fire you, but don't be so accommodating and hardworking that they can't stand to lose you. Put in your 40 hours, do a decent job, don't be bad, don't be great, and cross your fingers for that aluminum parachute.
