I shared I took the vsp around the last working day and the vibes were hella weird. I mean it was kin of awkward our last day. Some people leaving due to vsp..some got Rifd ..supervisor got RIFD wasnt even there the last day.Did any of you get a vibe that your team was envious or ignoring you once you finally revealed you took the vsp or found a new job 🤔?Its unfortunate what the ISP people are going through. It just revealed how noncohesive that team really was.

@ae in my dept we were told we were not allowed to say anything. no side chats, no goodbyes. what do you do? say goodbye and be on the next rif or stay silent and plan our escape? i stayed silent. i am sorry and i am also jealous.

When it’s my turn to leave I don’t think I will say anything either. Prob just work my last day and be done

@bc As a leader who took VSP knowing if I did not I would eventually be laid off, we were in one way or another told to keep quiet about it. Fear of losing our severance kept us quiet. Some chose to slowly tell others in other departments in quiet ways. It is sad that those who felt compelled to take VSP because they knew what was coming was in a way told by their leaders to stay “quiet “ about it. After almost 13 years with this company some is us seen overall lack of transparency and accountability! Trust me when I say, at least for me and others I worked closely with that also took the VSP, we wanted to let our colleagues know.
@bc yes I announced it and they basically said nothing
@ac did you tell people you took the VSP and give them the date? A good handful of people in my area took VSP left and I only heard of it through word of mouth. Nothing from them themselves. And these were people I worked with often. I would have given them a goodbye and good luck but they never said anything.
@aw it was very strange left a bad taste in my mouth. I did tell another vsp person that I got a job after they asked and I guess they wanted to get a job at the place Im going to and started acting shady.. 🙃
I took the VSP and my last day was 9/4. My supervisor asked my permission to send out a message to the team that it was my last day. Not one response. No good luck no thank you no don't let the door hit you. NOTHING. Not even from her manager or a coworker I worked closely with and thought I was close to. All they did was like her message. Kind of disappointing after being with the company for 11 years. So glad to be gone!
People really need to do better about remembering that what goes around comes around. When you forget about and lack sympathy for those who were shoved out before you, especially if you were work friends, then don’t expect them to take your calls when it comes your turn to be shoved out.
@ae yea it’s like you have some disease they hope they don’t catch. Good luck with that one as you said it’s coming for them. Too.
@ac The very same occurrence for me when I left after over 12 years of service. Dead silence like I never existed. Some of those people I bent over backwards to help, putting my own projects on hold at times to help them with theirs. It as though suddenly you have leprosy when they k ow you are on the way out. So, very hard to have sympathy for them when the same thing happens to them when they get pushed out.
No email, no goodbyes, it’s like eveyone else was told not to say a word on 9/4 or even the week leading up to it. It was super odd, especially after working here for 12 years.
I know some vsp people preferred to leave quietly without a word said to them but still…perhaps a general email thanking people for their time and best of luck in future and thank you for saving us some money now we can focus on to the next group we need to let go.

Me team is totally silent in everything! Not a peep
The entire environment is just weird right now. I think most are not even sure what to say or do in this situation. most are waiting for the other shoe to drop. Some are just laying low to allow dust to settle or hope it does. For my team members that just left and the ones scheduled in December- I’m happy for you. Unfortunately I’m not in a position to accept without next job lined up. Envious- definitely. To the one’s RIFd I’m sorry. I know it will not be the last RIF to hit the ones that remain. This company is a shadow of itself its very sad.
