Anyone else wondering about the big Town Hall meeting next week. It seemed very sudden and when I looked back at the old announcements they always have announced the meetings a month in advance. Also seems like a lot of people leaders will be on site for the meeting. Definitely seems like more bad news on the horizon...

@ac, Was that the leak in fall 2023, when we forced them to prematurely announce 2K layoffs? What a mess that was. I’d almost forgotten about that one, even though I lost a few good buddies in the process.
@bk, Just a couple of friendly observations:
All your comments on this thread are off-topic and steer the conversation away from Town Hall, which only helps those guys at the top.
And now I’m complicit in hijacking the thread, but I really need to add this: given the site’s structure and the fact that it was founded during the 2009 recession, I’m guessing it was started by a few techies who got burned back then, so it’s highly unlikely they are biased towards H1B. Plus, if my grandma figured out how to use an AI spellchecker, I’m sure they and their staff, if any, did too.
Maybe you know how to spell "chaos". Well, maybe not...
@bf Look! It was just an observation. I have been in other countries where they have made observations about Americans and were not shy to mention them and I took no personal offense and did not call nor think of them as racist, but just observant.
But, you know what, I do not even care what you want to believe about me. I am sick and tired of walking on eggshells or else we might wrongly get labeled a racist or xenophobe.
Not all Indians are this way but I cannot tell you how many times, including today, where I have been in a gas station and attempted to make friendly chit chat with the Indian cashier, only to have him look at the Indian next to him, and give some sort of arrogant smirk, and not even reply back to me in kind.
In all honesty, I think that most, not all, Indian (men specifically) have a superiority complex and you think that Americans are a bunch of dummies.
Anyway, point is, if you want people to be friendly to you in this country, maybe try being friendly back, when we go out of our way to reach out to be kind.

@bd I could be totally wrong but anytime I see the word “bootlicker,” I think it is most likely from an Indian. Because I have worked with several Indians at multiple companies and went to church with an Indian as well. All of them had one thing in common; they liked to use the word “bootlicker,” whereas Americans tend to use a different type of word that speaks of someone smooching a backside.
Also, I think that the owners of this site or at least the forum admins are Indian, as a lot of posts about Indians tend to get deleted.
So, it is possible that the person that wrote the post you are inquiring about, was written by an Indian Layoff Forum Administrator.
@b5 probably because we cant live in hysteria and negativity all day like you. Are u still at the company or no? Do u have an exit date? That will say a lot about ur view and hostility towards those who still have their jobs and remaining positive. Misery loves company.

As much as everyone likes crazy conspiracies maybe it’s just because we finally have announced a new CIO and the companies looking to parade him out.

Reminds me of back in 2023, They issued a town hall meeting urgently after a leak came out on this site that there will be mass layoffs. Who knows what going to happen, my sup has been on do not disturb mode all day this week, and its odd, they are definitely planning something, thats for sure.
They let Oregon team members know that they are exiting commercial group business in CA and Oregon effective Feb 2027. That impacts several thousand HealthNet employees. maybe they will announce that to the rest of the company?

If all upper management ( Manager and above) will be attending than there is an issue. They will be trying to put out a fire or they will be delivering some bad news. In my experience, none of this is good.
Not necessarily….seems like a progress checkpoint on moving forward now…..could be nay, yay or neutral. 🤷🏽♀️
