Thread regarding PayPal layoffs

No layoffs in Compliance?

Anyone in GFCCP/GI/Compliance affected? It seems a few in Risk and that was all? Seems a little worrisome and hence supports the rumors that there are additional layoffs to waterfall this week. Anyone have news from these departments?

It seems unlikely that another round of layoffs is planned for October.

@ad why should we care ? The leadership doesn't care, they have dismantled everything that made this company great for our customers, destroyed our reputation and are ultimately responsible for the employees current state of mind

@ad please hurry! Use all your savings and buy PayPal stock, only by doing this you can save us!!!

@ad employees can't do anything about declining share price. That is a reflection of market whims and what they think management can do to change it.

I’m in this dept and have not heard of anyone being laid off, a director seemed pretty confident we wouldn’t be affected too much.

The compliance org is a joke but there are many useless managers to cut, I can think of a few specifically...here's to hoping they cut the right ones!

I believe the cuts to L1 will be minimal. Automation projects have stalled out mostly because most of the resource documents were plagiarized from various online resources, and it's incredibly hard to vibe code the law

@ad It IS just a job. I do the work and they pay me. I care about PayPal only in relation to my continued employment. I do not care about shareholder value.

@ad you can not like the comment but it’s true. Also it’s not the employees fault but a direct result of leadership. Looks like another bad day coming up.

@a9 looks like it will drop more today and the banks gave us a bunch of downgrades. Meanwhile you can’t find Jamie Miller or Enrique Lores anywhere. It would be nice to just hear from the leaders instead of everyone just running around in fear of losing their jobs. They have cultivated a toxic environment.

@a2 is stock still dropping? It dropped after the Stripe talks ended, which was expected, but is still trading around 52. Don't get me wrong, I hate going through this 3 to 4 times per year, but just saying things that aren't true doesn't help.

I don't know of anyone affected in teams like BRM, SAR, Global Investigations, or Legal. Granted, it is harder to cut someone who is in the middle of a huge investigation or prepping for court, but that hasn't stopped them before. Wonder if that org still has to hear yet this week.

No that’s why the stock keeps dropping. Enrique doesn’t know what he’s doing.
