Has anyone heard that going forward, anyone that receive severance will have it capped at 7 weeks?

When a change is made, there is some kind of email asking employees to read and acknowledge the change. That has been the harbinger of doom before..."Please read and acknowledge the updated severance policy," this was sent out before the waves of layoffs began. Just the other day, a department senior leader, sent out an updated version of performance expectations. If you listen closely, you can hear an axe sharpening.
The currently published US Severance Policy document (last edited 4/2/2026) still says 52 weeks is the maximum severance for all grades.
Of course, they could have changed the policy without publishing it.
