I signed the general release on July 5 but up to this day no severance yet.

@OP mine was right at 45 days.
Pay out should be August 6
You should get your severance 30-45 days after your last day on payroll. I would expect it to be closer to 45 days.
Seeing this question posted on this forum sort of helps confirm and validate your surplus.
