I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they pulled the rug from under us once again when we least expect it, considering how badly this whole thing has been handled so far.

Yes, I wouldn't be surprised if the response has been delayed and poorly planned.
No doubt! Why not, they thouggt no one would take VSP and now theyre scrambling and will delay!
I bet there are more people than you think who have thought of this. They may be awake unable to sleep right now because of this thought. I actually think the VSP people will not be messed with in that way but so much is changing outside of company control right now. My guess is- the more likely scenario is that the involuntary layoffs are being rethought in terms of timeline. They are probably up all night reworking that as we speak. Funding is being pulled and they don't have control over that and that was very recent. The case may be that some layoffs may be immediate and some people will be gone even before the VSP people. That is just a guess but 6 weeks ago that may not have even been the plan. Change is coming fast and furious to this industry.
