Hello Folks. The last round was just over on 10/23. The next round is fast approaching. Employment at ATT is like paying utility bills - it happens monthly and don't know the number (in this case employees impacted).

They'll do it before the holiday.
@cp They don’t follow the contract! We are wireline and expendable. Every district may have a different date if they choose to follow it and they may ask the union to do it.
Cnv, Fiber, and Mobility getting 40% cuts. FirstNet 30% off payroll. Wireline, wireless now converged. Sad. Moral is down and all year we’ve been told we know quotas high, and will be no layoffs. It will get better in 2026. Well that came and went.
“All of you “Pick me, pick me” people: just let your manager know you want to go on the layoff list instead of telling random people on this site.”
After saying “pick me” for years, a guy on my team became hysterical and cried like a like a little girl when he actually got chosen last week. Claims about wanting to leave were all a front.
@gt correction VOLUNTARY severance email dated 11/8/24 off payroll 12/7/24.
All of you “Pick me, pick me” people: just let your manager know you want to go on the layoff list instead of telling random people on this site. If you are still around, is because you want to be or your manager can’t lose his or her span of control in order to keep his job. That’s it. Now go away!
@cp I just pulled up the involuntary surplus email from last year dated 11/8/24 for craft district 6 in the test center. They do not follow a specific schedule!!
once again if this is true it could be anybody and anywhere that there is managers to cut!!!
Cannot be craft!!
can't be deg or digital techs or premise technicians or construction, can't be air pressure or I and R!!!!
that would be announced about December 15 per the contract!!
@av Who told you it was a craft layoff? This OP mentioned a layoff date and how did you predict to be craft?
- HR sets POSSIBLE dates for layoffs for the year.
- predicting possible layoffs on that date doesn't require Kreskin.
They aren't 'random' dates.
We happen to have just hit on the last 'predicted' date October 23rd.
I think its likely that we'd get hit again as listed: Notification 11/21 - Exit 12/5.
its pretty much a holiday tradition at this point.
What would be more interesting is knowing the departments and amounts. This is more like 'water is wet'
@bc nobody knows.
@bb yes pick me too!
Maybe it's not a craft surplus? I know, critical thinking?
Pick me. Please!
Sounds about right. Craft was hit in Houston same time last year in test center.
Craft layoffs are announced every quarter per the union contract. This OP likes to post random dates that he thinks up. Troll post
NTECs in CA, not affected.
